Closing Date Announced for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Earlier this year, Disney announced that Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin would close in August to undergo an extensive refurbishment that includes updates to the ride vehicles, a new show scene, and gameplay enhancements. We now have an exact closing date. Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom will close for refurbishment beginning August 4, 2025. The attraction is planned to reopen at some point in 2026.
If you’re visiting after August 4th, that means you won’t have an opportunity to experience Space Ranger Spin on this visit. With the early August closing date, it also confirms that the ride won’t be available during this year’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

If you would like to know more, we have a separate post that shares details of the ride updates. One of the changes we’re looking most forward to is the new handheld blasters. Per Disney, each ride vehicle will now include handheld blasters for better aim, helping guests to score even more points. These new blasters will be perfect for our younger riders, allowing them to participate more in the experience.
