DINOSAUR Attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to Close in 2026 Making Way for Tropical Americas
Disney has announced that the DINOSAUR attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will officially close on February 2, 2026, as the park prepares for the new Tropical Americas-themed land. Guest will have their final opportunity to ride DINOSAUR on February 1, 2026. Here is the official statement from the Walt Disney World website.
The last day to experience DINOSAUR is February 1. The attraction will close permanently on February 2 to make way for Tropical Americas.

This closure marks the end of an era for Dinoland U.S.A., as the land officially becomes obsolete with the closing of this attraction. The new Tropical Americas-themed land will include new dining, shopping, and attractions the celebrate popular Disney films, including Encanto and Indiana Jones. A new Indiana Jones-themed attraction will take over the current DINOSAUR attraction. Disney has shared the following details about the new attraction:
A new Indy experience is set to arrive in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and will be different from any other Indiana Jones experience around the world.
In this new venture, the man with the hat has recently discovered a perfectly preserved Maya temple, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to explore it. He’s heard rumors about a mythical creature deep within the temple — and he’s got to see it for himself. So, he brings us along on the adventure… but will there be snakes? We’ll just have to wait and see.
If you’ve been following along, you may remember that the Boneyard Playground has permanently closed, and other parts of Dinoland U.S.A. closed earlier this year. Disney has also announced the following:
- Last Day to meet Donald’s Dino Bash Characters (February 2nd)
- Kali River Rapids Annual Refurbishment Pushed Up Earlier for Dinoland Closure
- All of Dinoland Officially Closes at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (February 2nd)
