Kali River Rapids Re-Opening Date Announced for Late 2025
Walt Disney World has announced that Kali River Rapids, the whitewater raft attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will reopen on December 12, 2025. It has been closed for refurbishment since October 6, 2025. Here is the official statement regarding the opening timeline.

Disney describes the attraction as a thrilling whitewater adventure through a lush jungle in the heart of Asia. You’ll raft down a roaring river, skim across an erupting geyser, drift below a canopy of lush vegetation, and be whisked along fast-moving rapids. Graze gushing waterfalls and bedrock amid the raging current. Then, as the harmony of nature is disrupted, you’ll plummet down a dramatic 20-foot slope!
As a reminder, you will get wet when you ride this attraction, and worse, you could get soaked. Most guests opt to bring a waterproof poncho or rain jacket to wear on the ride. Additionally, complimentary lockers are available near the attraction. Guests can use them to store mobile devices and other personal items.
