Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster’s Aerosmith Pre-Show Closes Permanently Without Warning
We have learned that the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s pre-show featuring Aerosmith has closed without warning at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While the attraction is still operating, the entire pre-show area has been closed off entirely. This space once introduced a vital part of the attraction’s storyline, featuring a scene from Aerosmith’s recording studio. Its sudden disappearance is notable, given that there was no warning of any changes that would be made ahead of the holiday season.

That said, we did know that the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith would transition to the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at some point in 2026. Back on June 5, 2025, Disney announced that the re-imagined attraction would reopen sometime in 2026. That announcement was made on the same day that Muppet*Vision 3D permanently closed. In their statement, Disney shared that the current Aerosmith version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would remain open through the remainder of 2025.
Then, Disney announced last October that the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets would speed into Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Summer 2026. At that time, Disney also shared that Scooter, the Electric Mayhem’s band manager, would be imagined as an Audio-Animatronics figure for the first time. The announcement teased that he might not be the only Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure joining the attraction.

At this time, Disney has not announced when the current version of the attraction will close or an opening date for the re-imagined version. Check back with Resorts Gal for the latest spin on all things Disney!
