Spaceship Earth Scheduled to Close For Routine Refurbishment This August
Disney has announced that Spaceship Earth will close in late August for a routine refurbishment. It is expected to open later this year. No updates were provided as to the work that will take place. Here is the exact wording with the closing date from the Walt Disney World website.
Spaceship Earth will be temporarily closed for a routine refurbishment beginning August 25, 2025, and is planned to reopen later this year.
Back in 2019, Spaceship Earth was slated to close for a major overhaul. Unfortunately, between budget cuts and the COVID-19 pandemic, the project was cancelled and has not been re-addressed with fans since. Given the fact that the attraction will open later this year, it doesn’t seem that we’ll see any significant changes. Hopefully, at some point, the beloved attraction will receive the updates needed to bring it to more modern times.
