Update: Disney’s Contemporary Resort Refurbishment Prolonged to 2027
If you plan to visit Disney’s Contemporary Resort within the next couple of years, be aware that the resort’s refurbishment has been extended through late 2027. Previously, the announcement showed an end date for the work to be completed in July 2026. Here is the new announcement:
Refurbishments will occur in phases throughout select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, including the atrium and Bay Lake Tower. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.
Refurbishment Dates: September 2024 Through Late 2027
The previous resort refurbishment announcement was similar, but we did notice a few distinctions between them. The new announcement (above) mentioned the atrium, which was not part of the former announcement. Additionally, the older announcement (below) mentioned the Convention Center, which is not specifically noted in the new announcement. Here is the older announcement for reference.
Refurbishments will occur in select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort—including Bay Lake Tower and the Convention Center. Please allow for extra travel time. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.
Refurbishment Dates: September 2024 through July 2026
At this time, there is no information available regarding the specifics of this prolonged refurbishment. You might also want to be aware that the Bay Cove Pool at neighboring Bay Lake Tower is scheduled for refurbishment between January and early May 2026. That notice has been posted for some time, but will begin after the first of the year. Bay Lake Tower is adjacent to the Contemporary.
