Photos: Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update in October 2025
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is moving right along as far as construction goes. As someone who’s on Disney property pretty regularly, I am still in awe at the size of the new hotel. You truly have to see it in person to get an idea of just how long those interior halls will be when you’re walking down them after a long day in the parks.
Since we recently visited Fort Wilderness to check out the Halloween campsite decorations, I thought I would take some photos along the way. Our last update back in August showed the resort from various viewpoints, including how it looks from Wilderness Lodge, the Contemporary, and more. This article will only show the progression since then. We’ll start with a view of Lakeshore Lodge from our boat ride over from Magic Kingdom.

From a distance, it’s hard to tell what’s changed.

But as we get closer, we see more and more finished surfaces. It will be interesting to see if Disney applies a similar paint job to Lakeshore Lodge as they did at the Polynesian’s Island Tower.

We can see the framing of the resort’s formal entrance (orange/brown rafters) as we prepare to dock at Fort Wilderness. Everything we’ve seen in the above photos faces the water at a unique angle. You don’t see the rest of the resort until you begin to turn toward the dock. Unless you have an overhead view, you cannot see the resort in its entirety from any angle. It’s that big.

It’s one of those things that when you get around the side of it, you’re like, “Oh, there’s more.”

We still don’t know much about the resort or these A-frames that sit to the left of it. But you can see just how close everything is to the Fort Wilderness boat dock.

The camouflaged fence blocks a decent amount of the view as you walk toward the Settlement.

As we get closer, you can see that this side of the resort looks much more completed than on our last visit.

It’s so close.

After spending some time at Fort Wilderness this week, I feel confident that the new hotel won’t be so overbearing on the Fort other than the Settlement. As far as placement goes, it does tower over Pioneer Hall.

Here is one final view from the Settlement bus stop as we waited for a Magic Kingdom bus.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness is an exceptional resort, and there’s truly nothing like it. It’s a place that offers a step back in time. Yesterday, we saw numerous children riding their bikes around the loops, families sitting in lawn chairs outside their campers, and others putting the finishing touches on their Halloween decor.
I hope that when it’s finished that more people will be introduced to the resort’s beauty and outdoor lifestyle without interfering with the charm. For more on Disney’s Fort Wilderness, you might like the following:
