Disney Lakeshore Lodge Progress: A Look from Different Viewpoints
We haven’t had much coverage of the new Disney Lakeshore Lodge because, well, we don’t really know much about it yet. To date, Disney has announced the name of the resort, a projected opening date of 2027, and that it will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” Most everything else we know relates to the initially planned Disney Reflections Resort that was announced back in 2018.
There is, however, one other thing that we know about this up-and-coming resort hotel. It’s going to be massive. So I thought we’d take a look at how the property is shaping up from different viewpoints. The following photos were taken during the last two weeks of August (2025). I’ll point out where they were taken and let them do most of the talking. At this point, what you see is what you get.

We’ll start with a view of Lakeshore Lodge taken from the monorail. The immediate structure is the Contemporary’s Garden Wing, and the new resort sits in the distance. This photo was taken from the Express Monorail that runs between the Transportation and Ticket Center and Magic Kingdom.

This next view was taken from the opposite side of the Contemporary on the Skyway Bridge that connects to Bay Lake Tower.

On another afternoon, I took the bus from Magic Kingdom to the Settlement at Fort Wilderness. This was the view of Lakeshore Lodge from the Settlement bus stop.

It’s hard to describe just how large the structure is.

It is true. Fort Wilderness will see significant changes, and I’m hopeful that others will come to love it as much as we do.

As for the new hotel, it’s going to be an incredible place to stay. I presume walking paths will connect all three properties: the Fort, Lakeshore, and Wilderness Lodge. I look forward to walking them.

After taking a few photos of the new resort merchandise at Fort Wilderness, I took the boat to the Wilderness Lodge for dinner. Here is a view from the dock. Clementine’s Beach appears to be much smaller than it once was.

One wonders if the new resort will have its own boat dock. I can’t imagine it not having one with the capacity being added to the area. That said, Disney didn’t add any new transportation options over at the Polynesian for the Island Tower.

As we set sail for dinner at Geyser Point, we’ll have a close look from the water.

It will be interesting to find out details about these A-frames.

Note that the photo below is only of the right side of the resort.

The next image shows a little better how it extends along the water’s edge. This view made me think about how long the interior hallways will be once they’re finished. At least, they’ll be air-conditioned, something you don’t get at the Fort.

Our final view is from the fireworks viewing area behind Geyser Point Bar and Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
