Pool Expansion Coming to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
A few months back, a construction notice stated that work would take place near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. That work began back in May. Today, Disney confirmed that a brand new zero-entry pool and deck area is in the process of being added to the existing pool area. This will double the space guests have to enjoy. In addition to the new feature swimming pool, the area will offer new tennis courts and two pickleball courts.
Released: June 17, 2025

Disney also confirmed that Stormalong Bay had officially reopened to guests, which we reported on earlier. At this time, there was no further information on the new resort, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, that’s being built immediately behind Pioneer Hall. That resort is expected to have a unique pool area. So far, however, little is known about the new resort other than it appears to be coming along quickly.
As far as the new pool’s completion at Fort Wilderness, the current refurbishment notice does not offer an end date. Here is the exact wording from Disney’s site.
Beginning early May 2025, construction will take place near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain open for Guests to enjoy. Guests using bus transportation should follow posted signage to reach the pool area.
