Disney’s Riviera Resort Bus System (Schedule and Travel Times)

One of the perks of staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort is having complimentary bus service to and from select theme parks and Disney Springs. While you’ll find multiple transportation options at the resort, some destinations require a bus ride. So for this article, we’ll focus specifically on the bus system, including average travel times, internal bus stops, and what to expect during your stay.

For reference, guests of Disney’s Riviera Resort will have immediate access to the Skyliner and complimentary bus transportation. (You can also walk between the resort and Caribbean Beach.) However, it’s important to note the resort doesn’t offer bus service to the Skyliner destinations unless the gondola system is not operating. So, if you plan on taking advantage of Disney transportation, you’ll have to take the Skyliner when visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot. (I try to mention this because some people think the Skyliner is an alternative, and if you fear heights, you would likely want to be aware of that before deciding on a resort.)

Regarding bus transportation, you’ll need to take a bus from Disney’s Riviera Resort to Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs. Disney’s Riviera does not share bus service with other resorts unless the Skyliner goes down. If the Skyliner is inoperable, you might have to share a bus service with the other Skyliner Resorts. (This is not a big deal, but it’s good to know how things operate.)

Riviera’s bus stop is at the end of a long, covered walkway accessible from the resort’s front entrance. The entire stop is under a covered pavilion with a couple of benches.

Here are our average bus travel times from Disney’s Riviera Resort. These times do not include how long we waited for the bus. Wait times signs are available at the resort bus stop, indicating when the next bus will arrive. The times below are how long it takes to get from the resort to the destination. They are the average of several trips and do not consider extenuating circumstances like significant traffic.
