Walt Disney World to Restrict Non-Hotel Guests from Using Disney Springs Transportation
Walt Disney World has confirmed that restrictions will soon be in place for resort transportation options at Disney Springs. You may remember that similar holiday restrictions were put in place back around Easter. However, from our understanding, these new restrictions are intended to be permanent, at least for the time being. As always, Disney reserves the right to change policies and procedures at any time.
From our understanding, this change will take place by the end of the month, and it will affect not only the hotel bus service but also the Sassagoula River Cruise that delivers guests to the Disney Springs Area Resorts. For reference, every resort hotel at Disney World offers bus service to and from Disney Springs. In addition to that bus service, the following resorts offer a boat service: Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Port Orleans Riverside, and the French Quarter.

What does this mean for you? Well, if you’re visiting Disney Springs, you will be required to show your hotel reservation if you want to board a bus or the boat service to leave the venue. This is typically done via the My Disney Experience app or by using your Keys to the World Card or a MagicBand. When this restriction was tested a few months ago, you had to fall into one of the following criteria to board the bus back to your resort:
- You must be a resort hotel guest.
- And/or must have a confirmed dining reservation.
- And/or must have a confirmed recreational activity reservation.
When this new system goes into place, cast members will be in place to check the validity of guests boarding the resort buses from Disney Springs.
We’ll provide an update when we know more details. Check back with ResortsGal.com for more updates.
