Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House Will Not Return in 2026
The Grand Floridian’s traditional gingerbread house will not return in 2026. This news was first reported by Scott Gustin via an announcement on X, the social media platform. Here is the statement that was shared with him.
The Grand Floridian gingerbread house will not return this holiday season. Instead, Disney’s culinary teams will create new miniature holiday displays for the resort. More details, including details about gingerbread displays at other resorts, will be shared later this year.
After reading today’s release from the Disney Parks Blog, we noticed the absence of the traditional resort gingerbread displays. Per this update, Disney will release more details about gingerbread displays at other resorts later this year. Additionally, the Grand Floridian’s culinary team will create new miniature displays for the resort.

You may remember that the Grand Floridian’s lobby was undergoing a major renovation ahead of the holiday season last year. At that time, Disney announced that the Grand Floridian would not have a gingerbread display due to the construction work taking place in the lobby. Here is a look at the finished lobby area.

Guests who visited back in the spring may remember that the resort’s traditional Easter egg display was spread throughout the resort instead of the usual lobby display. We have photos of the 2026 Easter Egg Display at the Grand Floridian.
Overall, we are sad to see the loss of the traditional gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian. We know that seeing the display is a long-standing tradition for many of our readers and resort fans. Not only that, but today’s announcements mentioned that guests staying at a Disney Resort Hotel or those with a valid dining reservation would be able to enjoy the holiday decor provided by the resorts. The wording leads us to believe that guests visiting from off-site might not be able to visit the resort hotels over the holidays without a proper reservation.
Again, this is all we know at this time. For more on the holiday season, see our guide to Christmas at Disney World. Check back with ResortsGal.com for more details.
