Harambe Market at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Temporarily Closing Through Holiday Season

Disney has announced that Harambe Market at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will temporarily close starting October 20, 2025. This charming outdoor quick-service restaurant is located in Africa, toward the back of the park, near the entrance of Rafiki’s Planet Watch.

Harambe Market is thankfully only closing for a couple of months, and per Disney, is expected to reopen in early 2026. It is closing to prepare for the upcoming permanent closure of Restaurantosaurus in Dinoland, U.S.A. As we’ve recently discussed, Restaurantosaurus will permanently close on February 2, 2026. For reference, Restaurantosaurus is the “American” food place in the park. It’s where you go if you want a burger and fries or an order of chicken strips. Harambe Market will offer these exact or similar types of items when it reopens next year as a relief of sorts for Restaurantosaurus.

In the meantime, Kusafiri Bakery will serve a few of Harambe Market’s popular menu items like bowls and wraps. (We enjoy eating here. You can read why and preview more photos here.)

In addition to Restaurantosaurus, Dinosaur, the Dino Institute Shop, Restaurantosaurus Lounge, and Donald’s Dino Bash will all permanently close on February 2, 2026.
