RG Routes: How to Get to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue at Disney’s Fort Wilderness
Ask anyone, they’ll tell you that the Hoop Dee Doo Revue is a must-do dining experience at Walt Disney World. What they probably won’t tell you is how to get to it. We’ve been working on a behind-the-scenes project for Resorts Gal that’s caused us to end up at the Fort Wilderness bus stop(s) more than a few times as of late. During our visits, I’ve found myself repeatedly providing instructions on how to get to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. I could set up a tip jar and offer directions every night. We even witnessed one family order a car service to take them from one end of the resort to the opposite because they were running late!
With so much confusion, I decided to put together a list of ways to get to Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Depending on your starting point, you’ll first want to know how to get to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Then, you’ll want to know how to get from that area of Fort Wilderness to Hoop Dee Doo Revue.
No matter how you travel to Disney’s Fort Wilderness, you’ll end up at the resort’s boat dock, the Settlement bus stop, or the Outpost bus stop. Here are the ways you will get to these locations:
- Take a boat from Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Contemporary, or Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and arrive at the Settlement boat dock.
- Take a bus from Magic Kingdom or Wilderness Lodge and arrive at the Settlement bus stop.
- Take a bus from Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, or Disney Springs and arrive at the Outpost bus stop.
*If you’re visiting the resort by car, you must park at the Outpost, which falls under option three.
How to Get to Hoop Dee Doo Revue from the Settlement Boat Dock
If you take a boat to the resort, you’ll arrive at the Settlement dock. To arrive this way, you will need to take a boat from Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Contemporary, or Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. So, if you’re staying at Disney’s Beach Club, you might take a bus to Magic Kingdom and then take a boat to Fort Wilderness.
You’ll walk through the security clearance area when you arrive at Magic Kingdom. However, you won’t have to walk through the ticket area. The boat dock for Fort Wilderness will be to your left past the ferry. You’ll see a sign overhead that indicates the dock for Fort Wilderness.
Once you arrive at Fort Wilderness, it’s approximately a five-minute walk from the boat dock to Hoop Dee Doo Revue. You can see Pioneer Hall in the distance from the boat dock. You can’t miss it. We recommend allowing an hour and a half of travel time for routes that include a transfer, such as the example we used above.
*An additional boat service is available from Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness. This boat service is available daily from 3:00 p.m. until 10:45 p.m.
Example: If you’re staying at a monorail resort like the Grand Floridian, take the resort monorail to the Contemporary. Then, take a boat from the Contemporary to Fort Wilderness (within the hours of operation).
How to Get to Hoop Dee Doo Revue from the Settlement Bus Stop
This next option, taking a bus from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness, is the simplest of the three options. This bus service is shared with Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. So, the bus travels from Magic Kingdom to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. It takes approximately fifteen minutes to travel full circle. This bus drops off at The Settlement bus stop, which is the shortest walk to Hoop Dee Doo Revue. It’s only a few steps away.
Important: The Magic Kingdom bus is the only theme park bus that drops guests off at the Settlement. All other theme park buses at Disney’s Fort Wilderness drop guests off at the Outpost on the opposite end of the resort.
The photo below shows the distance from the Settlement bus stop to Hoop Dee Doo Revue. While this is a short distance, you always want to remember to bring something in the event of rain. Pop-up showers are common around dinner time. We have seen guests get absolutely drenched trying to get to their dinner reservation on time.
Example: If you’re staying at Disney’s Art of Animation and visiting the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, you can take a bus to Magic Kingdom. Then, take a bus from Magic Kingdom to the Settlement at Fort Wilderness.
How to Get to Hoop Dee Doo Revue from the Outpost
Our final option is the one that gets guests most confused. This option is for guests who end up at the Outpost. If you drive or take a bus from Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, or Disney Springs, you’ll get dropped off at the Outpost. From the Outpost, you must take an internal bus to the Settlement. As we’ve discussed above, the Settlement bus stop is only a short walk to Pioneer Hall, where Hoop Dee Doo Revue is located.
From The Outpost, take the Yellow, Orange, or Purple internal bus to The Settlement. Each bus stops throughout the campground on the way, which will take time. You’ll need to return this way to retrieve your car or return to the Outpost bus stop.
Example: Say you’re staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach and take the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios. From there, you board a bus to Fort Wilderness, where you get dropped off at the Outpost. You have to wait on another bus and take it to the Settlement. That bus makes five stops on the way, taking what feels like forever. (Again, we would not take this route unless we needed to drive a car to Fort Wilderness. While it seems direct on paper, you could wait a while on a transfer bus and have to ride its entire route.)
Below is a photo of the Outpost bus stop. You might notice how a golf cart parking lot sits adjacent to it. Fort Wilderness is so immense that many guests drive their golf carts to the bus stops to avoid taking the resort’s internal bus.
Not Recommended: Technically, you can walk from the Outpost to the Settlement, but it’s about a 25-minute walk that crosses several internal roads within the resort.
Hopefully, this article provided you with a few tips for traveling to Hoop Dee Doo Revue. The most important thing to note is how you will get to Fort Wilderness and then how you will get to Hoop Dee Doo Revue once you arrive. Remember, if you end up at The Settlement, you’re only a short walk away. But if you end up at The Outpost, you must take another bus!

Hi, thank you. Yes the resort boat service has been running since last Fall. They have been running in the afternoons from 3:00 p.m. until 10:45 p.m.
Not staying on property, but can you park at Magic Kingdom without entering and take the bus to the settlement dock and then a return back to the parking area?
You can, but you’ll have to pay to park at Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom’s parking lot is the Ticket and Transportation Center. From there, you’ll have to take the ferry or monorail to Magic Kingdom and go through security (not the ticket area). After you pass through security you can take a boat or a bus to Fort Wilderness.
