New Map Shows Layout of ‘The Magic of Disney Animation’ Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Walt Disney World has released a new map that shows the layout of The Magic of Disney Animation coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Thanks to the map, we now have a better idea of what to expect from the re-imagined park area. For reference, The Magic of Disney Animation takes over the former Star Wars Launch Bay building. It will be home to a collection of new experiences inspired by Disney animation. The building itself sits at the back of the Walt Disney Studios Lot, which takes over the former Animation Courtyard. We’re still a little unsure about the name “Animation Courtyard” because Disney has referenced it in recent announcements.
New Experiences Coming to The Magic of Disney Animation
As we can see on the map, the following new experiences are coming to The Magic of Disney Animation.
- Once Upon a Studio Theater: Attend a special screening of Once Upon a Studio, featuring Mickey Mouse and beloved characters from throughout the history of Disney animation.
- Drawn to Wonderland: Play your way through the curious world of Alice in Wonderland, inspired by the concept art style of Disney Legend Mary Blair. This play area is for the enjoyment of children ages 6 months to 5 years old. See more details revealed about the Drawn to Wonderland playground.
- Off the Page: Meet some of your favorite Disney friends, drawn to life in colorful settings inspired by the animation process. See the list of characters coming to Off the Page when it opens later this summer.
- Olaf Draws: Learn to draw alongside Olaf the snowman, with the help of artists from the Walt Disney Animation Studios. You can read more about what we know about Olaf Draws to date.
A closer look at the map reveals a few galleries, open spaces, and the new Studios Store. At the time of publication, an opening date has not been announced for The Magic of Disney’s Animation.
