Photos: Standard Resort View Room at Disney’s Beach Club Resort

It’s no secret that we love staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. This stay was planned to check out the standard resort view rooms that were last updated in 2023. You may remember that the resort underwent a soft goods refurbishment during this time. This new look incorporates most of the room’s existing furniture. However, several significant changes were made, including transitioning from carpet to solid surface flooring. Artwork was also added that provides the rooms with a splash of Disney. We have no complaints about that!

Below, we’ll preview the updated rooms at Disney’s Beach Club. We’ll share photos and a video of the rooms, and a few thoughts about our stay. We visited Beach Club in early November of 2023, during the start of the holiday season. Our assignment was room #3700 on the third floor of Disney’s Beach Club. We paid approximately $402.00 per night for this room with an annual passholder rate.

Going into this stay, I reserved a regular guest room with a resort view. We’ll get to the view later, but upfront I’ve decided to upgrade to a water-view room when we return. Our days of touring the parks from dusk to dawn are in the past for the most part. I also spend more time at the resort than the average guest. Therefore, I don’t usually recommend upgrading room views, especially if you won’t spend much time in the room. But, ultimately, I would have enjoyed a more pleasant view than the one we received.

Standard rooms at Disney’s Beach Club sleep up to five guests. They have two queen-size beds and a sofa that converts to an individual bed suitable for one person.

On the wall, a framed print features Daisy Duck enjoying a sundae from Beaches and Cream. She is sitting at an outdoor table in front of Stormalong Bay. If you like this piece, take a closer look. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but it’s printed on a textured canvas, giving it a unique look.

The former nightstand with the ladder top remains. Do you remember when these rooms had a lifeguard Mickey lamp on the shelf? Things have certainly changed. These stands have been repurposed as a place to rest your device(s).

Several outlets and USB ports sit near the back of the stand. The outside edges of the beds do not have a place for charging your device. So, if you have a lot of devices, you might prefer to bring a travel charger. While I don’t necessarily think everyone will need one, if you charge phones, Magic Band+, watches, etc., it’s probably a good idea to pack one.

The former desk with table and chair remains. This has always been one of my all-time favorite resort amenities.

You can use it anywhere in the room. When my niece was younger, I would roll the table to the edge of the bed. She would eat breakfast and watch cartoons while I was getting ready. Formerly, Disney’s Beach Club also had room service. When the cast member delivered your items, they would roll the table out for your order.

Unfortunately, except for Disney’s Grand Floridian, room service has ceased to exist at Walt Disney World. This small table brings back memories of enjoying rainy nights at Disney while indulging in room service and watching whatever Harry Potter or Star Wars film was on TV. We always visited during breaks from school, and you could almost guarantee that a movie marathon would be shown over the long weekends.

This good memory reminds me that we’ve been conditioned to accept less for more. Why on earth has an extra cost amenity like room service not been returned?

On the opposite side of the room, we see the sofa with a table lamp and new artwork. I didn’t get a good photo of the curtains, but they were dreary. The fabric on the sofa’s pillows had a beachball print. But the texture of the fabric on the sofa, pillows, and curtains felt a little off.

Hotels have to be updated often. That is understandable. Disney has received tremendously negative feedback over the last ten years for their hotel updates, losing touches of Disney magic. I know because people complain and comment to me all the time about “what Disney has or has not done.” So it feels like Disney is listening by adding these special touches, like the artwork in the photo below.

But there has to be a proper balance. While I loved the addition of the artwork and solid surface flooring at the Beach Club, the room felt a bit hodgepodge. After staying in the Moana rooms at Disney’s Polynesian, it’s hard to look at these updates at the Beach Club as being cohesive. Looking at the photo below, the right side of the room has a soft, elegant feel. The opposite side does not.

Would this deter me from staying at Disney’s Beach Club? No, I love the resort. But I can also see why Disney’s faithful fan base complains so compassionately about changes. We’ll discuss other changes around the resort when I get to our updated review. I’m not a decorator, but my real estate background taught me that the most critical aspect of design is delivering what the client wants in a clear, cohesive fashion.

Anyway, I like this type of sofa that folds to make a bed. They are relatively comfortable for a child or a smaller adult.

Here’s a better look at the updated flooring. The platform beds provide an excellent place to store luggage underneath.

The former dresser remains. These are nice quality pieces of furniture. Additional outlets and USB ports are available in the back. We have found that sometimes these outlets are so loose that the plug doesn’t meet the connectors. However, that’s something we find at many hotels, in general.

A closet is available in the room’s foyer.

Inside, a handheld steamer and an extra pillow with a blanket are available. We almost always have to request extra pillows and blankets at the Yacht and Beach Club. The air-conditioning has always worked well. Make sure that if you get too cold, you turn the thermostat to off mode. If you turn the temperature up, the heat will kick on, and things will get toasty.

An in-room safe is tucked inside the wall of the closet.

A trusty luggage rack was also available.

A cabinet near the front door provides storage for a beverage cooler.

An ice bucket, a Keurig coffee maker, and accompaniments make a beverage bar on top.

The guest baths at Disney’s Beach Club are bright and clean. You’ll have a vanity with two sinks and a ledge above it to store personal items.

I was surprised that built-in dispensers with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner had been installed. There was quite a bit of controversy when these things first came out some time ago. But I think they are much simpler to use and less wasteful.

One of the other things I like about the rooms at Disney’s Beach Club is the regular door that leads out to the balcony. You don’t have to worry about sliding it back and forth.

Unfortunately, our standard view was of the roof. We did have a rather large balcony, though. If you want a balcony, make sure to see our overview of the room balconies at both the Beach and Yacht Club, so you’ll know what to expect.

But the view wasn’t pleasant.

However, we could see the tip top of the Land Pavilion and Spaceship Earth in the distance. We have stayed at Beach Club many times and have had various standard views. All were more pleasant than sitting on top of this roof area. So, if you think a room view will be important, it might be worth the upgrade. But if you’re trying to stay on budget, sometimes this view is the right compromise.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. However, I have mixed feelings about the resort’s updates. I’ve concluded that many of the improvements look great, but the finished product doesn’t come together. Well, it doesn’t for me. You may feel differently.
