Deluxe Studio at Disney’s Saratoga Springs (Photos, Room Tour, and Amenities)

The deluxe studios at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa have become a popular choice since their last update. These room types offer sleek finishes and subtle decor with just the right amount of Disney, making it a comfortable, understated choice for a Disney World vacation.

We recently stayed in a deluxe studio at Disney’s Saratoga Springs to get the full experience. Below, we’ll take a closer look at what you can expect, including photos, a video room tour, and a detailed look at the studio’s amenities. We’ll also touch on a few location aspects and discuss some of the benefits of staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort compared to a regular Disney Resort hotel.

Our room was located in The Grandstand section of Saratoga Springs. We had a view of the golf course. For reference, our room number was 4392, which was on the third floor.

For this visit, we had reserved a standard deluxe studio. Saratoga Springs also offers the option for guests to reserve a preferred studio. It’s important to note that the only differences between the standard and preferred studios is their location. Preferred locations are in The Springs or the Congress Park sections of the resort.

The Springs preferred rooms are within proximity to the resort’s feature pool, lobby, counter service dining, and other amenities. Congress Park is considered preferred because of its proximity to the walkway to Disney Springs. Anyone planning on spending a decent amount of time at Disney Springs might want to consider staying in Congress Park.

In addition to The Grandstand, other standard studios are located in The Carousel and The Paddock. For the record, Saratoga Springs is a massive resort situated on over 65 acres. It is also a dedicated Disney Vacation Club Resort. So, all the rooms at Saratoga Springs range from deluxe studios to three-bedroom grand villas.

Deluxe studios at Saratoga Springs sleep up to four guests. One might take a glance at the rooms and say they are bland in appearance. However, I beg to differ. We found these rooms bright and cheerful. Also, the use of neutral colors makes the room feel expansive. My first thought was, wow, this room feels huge! But they aren’t any larger than the average deluxe studio.

Solid surface flooring is the trend in newer hotel rooms. Hopefully, it will be a trend that becomes permanent. This type of flooring is a much cleaner option than heavily treaded carpet and is more sustainable.

You might notice that the secondary bed in the room has been converted to a Murphy bed that pulls down from the wall. This setup has become another common element in Disney’s Villa Resorts. We first saw its debut in the deluxe studios at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

The Murphy bed replaces the queen-size sofa sleeper that was formerly in the deluxe studios at Saratoga Springs.

Coming from someone who recently spent several nights on the sofa bed in a deluxe studio at Disney’s Beach Club, the pull-down bed is a vast improvement. (As of this update, the sleeper sofas at Disney’s Beach Club have also been replaced with Murphy beds.)

When the bed is in use, darling artwork featuring horses in Saratoga Springs Stables is displayed.

Look closely, and you’re sure to find a few hidden Mickeys.

When the bed is not in use, you can fold it into the wall and use the sofa instead. A coffee table sits in front of the sofa. The lid of the table lifts and extends toward the sofa, making it an excellent spot to enjoy dinner and a movie.

The coffee table is on rollers, so you can move it out of the way while using the bed.

Saratoga Spring’s deluxe studio features a bathroom with a tub/shower combination.

Fixtures include a rainfall-like shower and a removable showerhead option. Over the years, I have found the removable option comes in handy for bathing children, especially when it comes time to wash their hair.

The vanity area is separate from the water closet. It’s always nice to have the option for multiple people to be able to get ready at the same time.

The closet contained all the usuals, like an extra pillow, blanket, iron, ironing board, and a safe. Most of the deluxe studios have a vacuum cleaner. DVC members staying on points do not receive daily housekeeping. (However, regular guests do.)

One of the nice things about renting a studio is the kitchenette area. While this space doesn’t offer the same conveniences as a modern kitchen, it does have a microwave, a mini-fridge, and a sink. These are all nice upgrades over a standard room.

Deluxe studios have toasters and regular-size coffee makers.

Disney provides Joffrey’s coffee packets in the room along with the usual accompaniments.

Additionally, the sink comes in handy for washing a few dishes or rinsing refillable resort mugs.

Usually, the villa resorts have a set of ceramic dishes. However, Disney is still providing individually wrapped paper plates, bowls, and cups as of this update. Hopefully, we’ll eventually see the return of regular dinnerware. Other amenities include paper towels, dish soap, a traditional towel, a can opener, a wine opener, and plasticware.

The mini refrigerator is much larger than the beverage coolers you would find in a standard resort room.

A bench was available where you could sit and remove your shoes (or put them on). The drawers underneath the bench open and provide a place to store your shoes. I thought this was a great idea. However, we did miss the room no longer having a formal table with two chairs.

I don’t know about you, but we generally have a meal at the table with chairs. Granted, we could enjoy a meal on the sofa and use the lifting coffee table for our food. But if you’re a family of four, the dining space is limited.

Storage-wise, the dresser was not only aesthetically pleasing but also provided tons of space for clothes. The drawers were both deep and wide enough to store several articles of clothing in each one.

Additionally, you could place items on the marble top if needed. We tend to lay our Magic Bands and Minnie Ears on the dresser at the end of the day.

Other details include three silhouettes hanging above the queen-sized bed. One was a horse, another a horse-riding helmet with Mickey’s ears, and the third, a blue ribbon. These tied in well with the horse-racing theme of Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. Additionally, the padded headboard was a nice element for those who like to sit in bed and read or watch television. Each side of the bed featured a nightstand with a reading lamp.

Perhaps the best attribute of the entire deluxe studio was the view of the fairway on the golf course. Upon arrival, I wasn’t sure I would like this location since it was further out from the central portion of the resort. However, I ended up loving the privacy.

Other than the miniature hidden Mickey carvings on the railing, you would never know you were at a theme park resort. It was quiet and peaceful, which is just what you need after a long day in the parks.

The balcony was a decent size, with two chairs and a small table between them.

All of the rooms at Saratoga Springs have a balcony. Those located on the first floor will have a patio. Each building has an elevator, so we have found that upper-floor rooms are generally more desirable at this resort.
