Grand Floridian Lobby Refurbishment: October 2025 Photo Update
Renovation work on the lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian is one step closer to being completed. In the last few days, a major turning point was marked by the rollout of the lobby carpet, accompanied by new furnishings. We stopped by the resort over the weekend to check out the progress. Let’s take a look at how things are moving along.

We’ll start with a view from above. Looking down, we can get an overall idea of how the carpet brings everything together. I’d seen a few photos circulating online before our visit and was unsure whether or not I would like it. That said, I learned long ago to reserve judgment until I see something in person. Overall, I was impressed.
We’ll eventually return for a more formal before-and-after look. At this time, a completion date has not been announced. If you’re visiting over the holidays, note that the Grand Floridian will not offer a gingerbread house this upcoming season.

The entire lobby has also received new furnishings. Unique colors and patterns were used on almost every aspect. Somehow, they all work together. Here are a few examples.

The children’s area, previously next to the main elevator, was relocated between the staircase and the check-in desks. The photo below shows a space for parents to relax. A child-sized furniture set sits in front of this space, complete with a television playing Mickey Mouse shorts. (It was in use on the afternoon of our visit, so we didn’t get a photo.)

A new mural complements the lobby’s main elevator.

Here is a look at the newly carpeted staircase.

The Grand Floridian’s logo is positioned in the center of the staircase’s landing.

Speaking of jobs well done, the updated staircase mural is gorgeous. It’s a sunset scene featuring the resort’s main building surrounded by a stunning landscape along the shores of what one can assume is Seven Seas Lagoon. A pair of Sandhill cranes make up part of the painting.

Here is a closer look at the carpet design at the top of each staircase.

We’ll take another look from above. This time we’re focused on the birdcage-inspired bar.

It’s much further along than what we saw in our August construction update. Here are a few photos.

Finishing touches have been added to the secondary elevator foyer.

These murals have been in place for some time, but it now feels like everything makes sense.

The golden leaf chandelier is a nice touch.

If you look closely, you’ll notice the mirror features the Grand Floridian’s logo.

Lastly, we’ll take a look at the new lobby reception area.

This updated space turned out well, and I think that most guests will find the new layout convenient.

Instead of a long counter, the space now has individual reception areas with dividers, allowing for more privacy.

Overall, the lobby updates are coming along nicely. As someone who enjoys sitting in the lobby to listen to the piano player or catching up with friends, I am looking forward to seeing the final result. After seeing these updates, I feel confident that the lobby will maintain that cohesive look that we all know and love. In the meantime, we’ll just have to wait and see.
