Hurricane Hanna’s Loaded Crab Fries: A Storm Worth Weathering
On a recent visit to the Epcot Resorts Area, I found myself looking for a late lunch. After checking a few menus in the My Disney Experience app, I noticed something that looked appetizing at Hurricane Hanna’s. They had a new menu item: Loaded Crab Fries. At this point, I was at the Boardwalk and decided to stop in the Cake Bake Shop’s bakery to pick up a treat for dessert. So with a decadent dessert in hand, I made the pleasant stroll around Crescent Lake to the outdoor waterside bar and grill.

It’s no secret that Hurricane Hanna’s is one of our favorite places to enjoy an outdoor quick-service meal among the resorts. You may remember that I wrote an article last year about how you don’t have to stay at the resort to dine here. This location, situated outside Stormalong Bay Pool, features a dedicated outdoor dining area for those stopping by for a meal. On this day, however, the weather looked questionable. A quick check of the weather app on my phone indicated an upcoming rain shower. So I had my fries boxed to-go and took them inside.

I knew that I could find a seat inside The Solarium or at the outdoor covered pavilion close to Beach Club Marketplace.

After finding a small table and chairs by the window, I unpackaged my makeshift meal. It looked pretty tasty.

The crab fries are described on the menu as fries with crab meat, cheese curds, bacon pieces, and crab bisque. The sauce you see drizzled over them is actually a thin bisque, not cheese.

What can I say? They were delicious, and the crab meat was of good quality. That was really my only concern when I decided to order these. The last time I had something with crab meat, it had a fishy taste to it. Thankfully, there were no issues here. I would and probably will order these again if they stay on the menu.

Now, if you’re wondering about that brownie, I have some thoughts. (Spoiler: It was really good.) You can read about them and more in a separate review of the gluten-free brownie from the Cake Bake Shop.
