Disney World in February 2027 (Dates, Weather, and Crowds)
Are you visiting Disney World in February? If so, you might be surprised to learn that the majority of the month is busier than most expect. February has a couple of popular weekends that bring in crowds. The good thing is that the holidays are completely behind us. So you don’t have to deal with any lingering decorations like you do in early January. In fact, depending on the weather, you might see the first signs of Spring as flowers and seasonal trees start to bloom.
As for this guide, we cover the important dates and details that you need to know for February. We discuss Disney After Hours dates, Epcot Festival dates, scheduled attraction refurbishments, and other seasonal happenings. I’ll also share my experience with crowds and weather, including other details to help you know what to expect. As with all of our monthly guides, we’ll continue providing updates as new information becomes available. So you can return to this resource as your February 2027 visit approaches.
A Note About This Guide: After February 2027, we’ll begin updating this guide with information for 2028 as details become available. Some 2027 information may remain in the article during the transition so you can see what was offered the previous year as we build out the new dates and details.

Crowds at Disney World in February
February is often busier than most anticipate, especially mid-month. The long holiday weekend around Presidents’ Day is one of the busier times of the year. This is true of most holiday weekends. We expect crowds to build the week leading into the holiday, peak over the weekend, and then start to slow down later the following week.
Additionally, Walt Disney World hosts the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend between February 25th and March 1st. Anytime a runDisney event is hosted, crowds are comparable to a holiday weekend. So you’ll want to keep that in mind when planning.
The Weather at Disney World in February
February is similar to January, so I’ll rehash some of the same information we discussed in last month’s guide. The advice is that Florida winters are unpredictable. It’s good to bring extra clothes that you can layer. You could experience beautiful 75-degree days the first half of your trip, followed by temperatures down to the 30s-40s (that feel like the teens). Don’t be surprised if you have to run the air conditioner in the afternoon and turn the heat on by nightfall.
If a cold front were to come through, you’ll want to be prepared. I always like to mention that this kind of weather sends guests flocking to the gift shops for sweatshirts and other winter gear, which is often an extra (and unexpected) expense.
Personally, I wear sweaters and lightweight jackets that I can wrap around my waist and put on again after nightfall. Items like scarves, gloves, and hats go a long way on chilly evenings. I don’t know about you, but it is difficult for me to stay out in the parks after dark when I’m cold. So it’s something you’ll want to consider.
If you have extras that you don’t really want to tote around all day or return to your resort, you might consider a locker rental. All of the theme parks have lockers near the entrances. When the weather warms up, you can store your items for the day and then retrieve them when it gets cooler. While this is an extra expense, it will be much more affordable to bring items from home than to buy a round of $50.00 (or more) sweatshirts for everyone.
Everyone always asks: Can you swim in February? Unfortunately, it’s not something that anyone can answer outright. The first year I lived in Florida, we swam at night the entire month. The next year, it was too cold. If you’re hoping to swim, remember that Disney pools are heated to approximately 82 degrees year-round. We have found that the resort pools typically remain open unless the outdoor temperatures drop to about 60 degrees or lower. Some days, the pool might open later if the weather warms up or close earlier in the event of a temperature drop.
It’s really day by day with the weather in February. On the positive side, this month is part of the dry season. So while it could rain, it is less likely than some of the more tropical months when it rains almost daily.

February at Disney World
Here is our timeline for the month:
2027 Major Holidays and Events
- February 9th: Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday): A special event is usually held at Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts.
- February 12th – February 15th: Presidents’ Day Weekend (Holiday Weekend)
- February 14th: Valentine’s Day
- February 25th-March 1st: Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend (See the entire 2027 runDisney schedule.)
On Valentine’s Day, you might see royal couples in the parks. We’ve seen a few special opportunities like this at Magic Kingdom and Epcot over the years. They are not usually advertised, but more of a surprise-and-delight offering. So if you’re a character fan, make sure to keep a lookout for special appearances. (These types of surprises are more prone to happen earlier in the day than later.)
We’ll have more on this year’s Mardi Gras festivities at the Port Orleans Resorts when they’re announced. Typically, the information isn’t made available until a few days before the event. For an idea of what to expect, you can read about the 2026 Mardi Gras offerings at Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts as a reference.
The Epcot International Festival of the Arts runs through the entirety of February this year. It’s an incredible offering with food studios, art displays throughout the park, and entertainment offerings. If you would like to learn more, see our guide to the 2027 Epcot Festival of the Arts.

Extended Evening Hours are offered twice weekly for deluxe and deluxe villa resort guests. We’ll have more details as the month approaches.
