Disney World In June 2026 (Weather, Crowd Expectations, and Details)
June means summer days are ahead. At Disney World, we’ve seen a slower pace for June in recent years, but it looks like things will pick up in 2026. Disney has announced the return of Cool Kid Summer, which means more fun in the parks and at select resorts. Additionally, if you’re staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you might be able to take advantage of the complimentary water park admission on your check-in day. We have added details below, along with other important updates for the month.

Weather at Disney World in June
If you’re visiting anytime between now and the end of September (the month I call second summer), it’s essential that you stay hydrated. It would be a rare occasion for me to run into you in the parks without a liter of water in my hand or my backpack. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve witnessed guests (literally) drop like flies in front of me due to dehydration. We drink plenty of water and often carry an electrolyte mix for when we refill our bottles. It’s also important to take breaks from the heat often.
June is also the start of hurricane season, which lasts through November (June 1st through November 30th). If you’re investing a decent amount of money in your trip (regardless of when you visit), you might want to consider purchasing trip insurance. To be fully transparent, as regular visitors, this is not something we do often for Disney World. But it is something that adds an extra layer of protection when we cruise or plan once-in-a-lifetime trips to other destinations. An authorized Disney travel planner can help you better discern if you have any questions.
Disney World Crowds in June
Crowds can be hit-or-miss in June. When my son was younger, we usually spent most of the first two weeks of June at Disney World. Back then, there were major summer events like Star Wars Weekend and Summer Kick-Offs that really brought in the crowds. In more recent years, we have found that summer feels more like the off-season than the time when everyone comes in all at once for a visit.
Coming off Memorial Day weekend, the first week of the month will likely be the busiest. After that, it’s really a coin toss on crowds, but we don’t expect it to be anywhere near Spring break or major holiday level crowds. That said, crowds will pick up slightly toward the end of the month as more people come in for the Fourth of July celebrations.
