Limited-Time Character Experiences and Fun Zones Mean More Disney Magic For Kids This Summer (2025)

Walt Disney World has announced that more magic is coming for kids as part of Cool Kid Summer. Guests visiting between May 27th and September 1, 2025, will want to be aware of special limited-time experiences that are geared toward those visiting with children. These experiences will include kid zones, more characters, pop-up entertainment offerings, games, music, dancing, and other adventures.

We have a few examples of what guests can expect during a Cool Kid Summer. Here’s what we know so far:

At Magic Kingdom, families can expect kid zones in Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland. Stitch will be available at the Tomorrowland location, which is where he already typically meets daily. (Update: We now have more details available here.)

At Epcot, families with children can enjoy a fresh game party and play space. Goofy will take over CommuniCore Hall during this time. Disney shared that there will be a few fun surprises and that more details will be available soon. (Update: We have more details about Goofy’s CommuniCore Hall takeover here.)

Disney also shared that guests staying at Disney Resort Hotels would be able to see more characters in the parks during the early entry theme park period. Typically, characters are not available during this time. (Valid admission is required to enter the parks.)

Lastly, Disney noted that the theme parks are often open for longer hours in the summer months. While that isn’t necessarily an announcement, it is a reminder that a new nighttime parade will be coming to Magic Kingdom. We can only hope to see parks like Magic Kingdom open later to accommodate even more nighttime events. Time will tell.
