Wilderness Lodge Exterior Refurbishment Extended Through Late 2026
Disney has provided an updated refurbishment notice for Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas and Cabins. The update states that exterior work at the resort will continue through late 2026. Here is the official statement from the Walt Disney World website.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are undergoing exterior refurbishment work expected to continue through late 2026. These enhancements may impact views from various locations throughout the Resort. While most resort amenities will remain available, Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.

You may remember that we visited Disney’s Wilderness Lodge for dinner recently and found an extensive amount of scaffolding and closed pathways in the outdoor area immediately behind the resort’s lobby. We have an update with photos of what was taking place during our visit.
Update: As of June 2026, most of this work has been completed. We have an updated photo post showing where the scaffolding has been removed from the Copper Creek Falls area. It also shows progress on the pathway to the boat dock.
Unfortunately, the exterior pathway that leads from the lobby down to the Copper Creek Falls was closed. In fact, the entirety of the windows leading down the interior walkway was covered in a frosted wrap, blocking the scenic (usually) views.
