A Timeline of May 2025 Highlights for Walt Disney World

It’s hard to believe that May is already upon us. With so many things in the works at Walt Disney World, I wanted to create a timeline with a few highlights in case you’re visiting this month. May marks the start of the summer season at Walt Disney World.

Hollywood Studios Anniversary
May 4th
Star Wars Day (Celebrate at Disney’s Hollywood Studios) See our May the 4th Foodie Guide for offerings available throughout the entire month.
May 6th
Reservations for GEO-82 at Epcot open for the first time ever. (The new Spaceship Earth lounge opens next month.)
May 7th
Disney announced a new theme park would be built in Abu Dhabi. This will be the 7th Disney theme park resort in the world.
May 1oth
The last day to dine at Mama Melrose’s Italiano Ristorante at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
May 12th
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Dates and Details Released.
May 12th
Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival 2025 Dates announced. (See All Festival Dates.)
May 14th
V.I. Passholder Days start at Disney World. Don’t miss the passholder lounge at Epcot. See the list of this year’s passholder dining discounts here.
May 15th
Tickets go on sale for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. (Resort Guests Only)
May 21st
Epcot Closes Early for a park buyout. Park Closes at 5:30 p.m.
May 21st
Both Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open simultaneously for the first time since early 2020.
May 22nd
Tickets go on sale for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. (All Guests)
May 22nd
Halloween Date (October 31st) Sold Out for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
May 27th
Villains: Unfairly Ever After debuts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (New Stage Show)

The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure debuts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (New Stage Show)

Planning for Next Month

We’re already aware of a few things for June 2025. They are as follows:

  • June 2nd marks the end of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. You can preview the list of 2025 festival dates here.
  • GEO-82 at Epcot opens on June 4th. We have a preview of the lounge’s opening day menu here. A fireworks experience that costs $179.00 per person debuts the same evening.
  • June 7, 2025, is the last day to experience Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
