These resort gyms are some of the best-kept secrets in all of Disney World. Seriously, I have rarely visit one that’s been crowded, except during a hurricane.
Most of the time, I’ve had the whole place to myself. Granted, I don’t get up early to work out. So I can’t say whether or not there’s an early bird rush.
*All of the fitness centers at the Disney World Resorts offer 24 hour access with your room key or magic band.

Unfortunately, there are a few Disney hotels that do not offer fitness centers. If you’re staying at a value resort or moderate resort, with the exception of Coronado Springs, your hotel will not have a gym.

Survival of the Fittest Fitness Center at Kidani Village
In addition to the gym at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village has a separate fitness center. You’ll find the Survival of the Fittest gym near the Samawati Springs Pool.

Survival of the Fittest sits at the top of the pool area near the water slide entrance. It’s a little off the beaten path. You’ll walk out the front entrance of the resort to locate it.

Ship Shape Health Club at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club
Ship Shape Health Club is the name of the fitness center shared between Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club. You’ll find this gym on the outdoor walkway that connects the two hotels.

When I stay at Disney’s Beach Club, I always try to get in a work out or two. Ship Shape faces out to Stormalong Bay, the massive pool area that’s shared between the resorts.
This pool area is so spectacular that it ranks in our top spot for the best pools at Walt Disney World. You can get in a good workout, enjoy breakfast, and spend the rest of the day at the pool. Who needs the parks?

Across the water, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn has a large workout facility tucked in between the pool area and the breezeway that leads out to the boardwalk.

Inside, you’ll find a variety of weight machines.

There’s an excellent selection of free weights.

You can get in a few rounds on the old squat press if you like.

La Vida Health Club and Spa at Coronado Springs
Our next stop is the only moderate resort at Walt Disney World that offers a gym, Coronado Springs. Not only does Coronado Springs offer one gym, it actually has two, making it the only resort with two fitness centers at Disney World.

La Vida Health Club is located in the Casitas, which is the convention side of the resort. This gym has one large open space that includes almost anything you can think of for a workout.

Here is the area with free weights.

If you would like to do aerobics, yoga, or use some of the various exercise balls, there is plenty of open space.

Fitness Center at Gran Destino Tower
In addition to La Vida, Coronado Springs has a second fitness center located on the second floor of Gran Destino Tower.

It’s not the worst place to work out.

I don’t think anyone can complain about the number of weights available, either.

Remember how I said these gyms were rarely crowded? This is the gym I worked out at during a recent hurricane, and it was packed.
However, the parks were closed and it was coming a torrential downpour. So there wasn’t much else to do.

Olympiad Fitness Center at Disney’s Contemporary
Olympiad Fitness Center is located on the third floor of the main tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. You’ll need to take the elevator to access this gym.

Inside, the gym is divided into several spaces. Below we see a few weight machines and treadmills.

Here’s floor space with mats, stability balls, and similar workout essentials.

Ellipticals are available.

When you enter the gym, there are a few benches and a stand with towels.

I also appreciated the mini-fridge with cold towels and filtered water.

Senses Fitness Center at Grand Floridian
Senses is the spa at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. On the opposite side of the spa, there’s a fitness center. Grand Floridian shares this fitness center with the Polynesian Resort at this time.
However, I’m hopeful that Disney will incorporate a fitness center for the Polynesian into their new DVC tower that’s currently being constructed. Time will tell.
In the meantime, guests of the Polynesian can walk or monorail to the Grand Floridian to use their gym. However, if you walk, you’ll need to take the construction walkway.
Unfortunately, the scenic walk from the Polynesian to the Grand Floridian is closed due to construction. So it’s a bit of a hassle to travel between the two resorts.
You’ll find Senses directly in front of The Villas at Grand Floridian. This building is located on the far side of the resort nearest the Polynesian and wedding chapel.

Sturdy Branches Health Club at Wilderness Lodge
Sturdy Branches is the fitness center located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. You’ll find it down on the Boulder Ridge side of the resort. Since it’s off the beaten path, you might want to locate it on the map before heading over.

Similar to most of the fitness centers at Disney World, Sturdy Branches is sizable.

In the back corner of the gym, there’s a large area with free weights.

Additionally, there are plenty of other strength and cardio machines available.

Health Club at Saratoga Springs
Saratoga Springs, an independent Disney Vacation Club Resort, is home to the Health Club. You’ll find the Health Club in The Springs area of the resort.
This building is located behind the main lobby and at the top of the feature pool area. On my last visit, I stepped in to take a few pictures.

Everyone was out at the pool on this hot afternoon.

Athletique Fitness Center at Disney’s Riviera
Our last of the independent DVC Resorts is Disney’s Riviera, which is also the newest resort at Walt Disney World. Riviera is home to the Athletique Fitness Center.

You’ll find Riviera’s gym on the ground level along the walkway directly behind the Beau Soleil pool.

While this gym is a little smaller than most, I find it has an efficient layout with plenty of equipment. With that said the gym is like the rest of the resort, everything here is boutique.

Fitness Centers at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin (and Swan Reserve)
Lastly, Disney’s Swan and Dolphin sit in the Epcot Resorts Area. While these resorts are owned and operated by Marriott, they are still considered part of the Walt Disney World Resorts.
Both the Swan and the Dolphin each have a gym. The Swan Health Club is located near the resort’s leisure pool on the ground level.

The Swan Reserve is the newest addition to Disney’s Swan and Dolphin.

This modern hotel fitness center is located on the resort’s second floor.
