Disney’s Beach Club Villas Deluxe Studio Room Review

A deluxe studio is a unique room type specific to Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Disney World. For this room review, we’re staying in a deluxe studio at Disney’s Beach Club Villas. The villas are a separate wing of the more significant Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
Rooms at a Disney Vacation Club are available for members to rent based on a point and date system. You do not, however, have to be a DVC member to reserve a room at the Beach Club Villas. Regular rooms can be reserved through Disney or an authorized travel agent at cash rates based on availability.
While deluxe studios are somewhat comparable to regular hotel rooms, they offer a few extras that make them somewhat more desirable. Below, we’ll discuss those amenities, what makes the villas unique, and provide an overview of our stay. It’s important to note that the deluxe studio we’re previewing below has had a few updates since our last stay. We’ll point those out where applicable, but overall, the room’s layout remains the same.

Since we planned to spend a good deal of time at Epcot and Hollywood Studios, the Beach Club was an ideal choice. Both theme parks are within walking distance of the hotel. Not only that, but the Beach Club is home to Stormalong Bay, a massive feature pool area that we enjoy about as much as the parks.
For this stay, our room had a traditional queen-size bed and a double-size sleeper sofa. Since this stay, most of the deluxe studios have received a Murphy-style bed that folds down from the wall in place of the sofa. A sofa still sits in the same place. It collapses underneath the bed when it’s in use.
I volunteered to sleep on the sofa bed. Unfortunately, it was uncomfortable. (Update: The new Murphy beds are much more comfortable, especially compared to the pull-out couch. They have real mattresses that provide a more stable sleeping surface, similar to a platform bed.)

A deluxe studio at Beach Club Villas sleeps up to five guests. The ability to sleep five guests was formerly a significant reason to choose the villas over the regular resort. However, during the resort’s last refurbishment, a fifth sleeper option was added to the resort’s standard rooms. We have a separate article that details the updated rooms at Disney’s Beach Club. Regarding the fifth sleeper, you can see where the table in the picture below folds. A single-size bed pulls down in its place.

Unfortunately, I didn’t think to take a photo of the single bed. We were a party of three, so we didn’t need it. Here’s a wider view of the area. We’ve stayed in several rooms with a fifth sleeper over the years. If all the beds are in use, the space automatically feels tight.

It is nice, however, to have the sofa and table with chairs when the beds are not in use.

A coffee table on rollers has some storage underneath.

For many, the most significant amenity of a deluxe studio is the kitchenette area. It comes with a full-size coffee maker, microwave, and sink, among other things. Note, these rooms have a mini-fridge. Rooms on the regular side of the resort only have a beverage cooler.

The microwave and sink are bonuses, especially for extended stays when you might like to prepare some meals in your room. It’s nice to be able to prepare single packets of oatmeal or grits for breakfast. We’ve also done things like hot dogs and individual mac-and-cheese cups in the microwave for the kids.

The deluxe studio bathroom has a separate vanity with one sink and plenty of counter space.

The bath area consists of a tub with a shower combination.

Standard toiletries are provided. They’ve been changed to built-in dispensers since this photo was taken.

Regarding housekeeping, those who rent points through the Disney Vacation Club or members will receive a small refresh with trash and towel service on the fourth day. Then, they’ll receive full service on the eighth day. You’ll find a few other amenities in the room’s secondary closet, like an iron with an ironing board, an in-room safe, a vacuum cleaner, and extra blankets with pillows.
*If you rented a villa through Disney and are paying cash, you’ll receive daily housekeeping.

Lastly, I wanted to mention that all the deluxe studios at the Beach Club Villas have a balcony or patio. Our room was on the ground floor, and we looked out to a grassy area. Balconies are great to have, even if you only use them to apply sunscreen. However, this is not the case in the standard rooms at Beach Club. Some standard rooms have tiny Juliette balconies that barely allow enough room to step outside the door. (See our comparison of room balconies at the Beach and Yacht Club for more details.) The deluxe studios do not have view category upgrades. You’ll get one of the following view types: a resort, woods, pool, or courtyard view.
Overall, the deluxe studio is an excellent option for a variety of guests. Plus, you can beat the location and the resort’s incredible pool area. For more details about Disney’s Beach Club Villas, you might like the following:
