Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Room Refurbishment to Begin in 2027
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is set to begin a multi-phase refurbishment of its guest rooms, starting in June 2027. The work is expected to continue through October 2028, with one themed area undergoing refurbishment at a time. During the refurbishment, guests may notice maintenance activity and alternate travel paths in areas where work is taking place. Here is the official statement from the Walt Disney World website.
From mid-June 2027 through Oct. 2028, rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will undergo refurbishment. The work will happen in phases, with one themed area being refurbished at a time. Guests may see or hear maintenance work in the area during daytime hours, and alternate paths of travel may be in place until work is complete
Disney’s Art of Animation is a Value Resort with a mix of traditional standard rooms and larger family suites. The resort is divided into four themed areas: Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid. The family suites are located in the Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Lion King sections, while The Little Mermaid offers the resort’s traditional value category accommodations.
At this time, Disney has not specified which area of the resort will be the first to undergo refurbishment. The announcement also does not provide details about what will be included in the room updates. But from our understanding, the rooms are expected to see a significant update.
