Refurbishment Announced for Disney’s Coronado Springs Convention Center
Walt Disney World has announced a new refurbishment for the Convention Center at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. Per the notice, the refurbishment will include the El Centro Corridor and surrounding areas. For reference, El Centro is the resort’s central hub and lobby area. The corridor that connects El Centro to the Convention Center runs between El Mercado and Rix Sports Bar and Grille. Here is the official announcement.
From August 10, 2026, through late September 2027, the Convention Center at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will undergo a planned refurbishment. The El Centro Corridor and surrounding areas will also undergo a refurbishment tied to this work.
Work will be completed in phases, with individual spaces being temporarily inaccessible at times. The work will take place overnight to help minimize impacts to daily operations. Â During this time, Guests may see or hear construction activity in the area. Â

This is the first major refurbishment we’ve seen at Disney’s Coronado Springs in some time, other than limited maintenance work on the Cabana’s leisure pool last year. You may remember that Coronado Springs went through a complete overhaul between 2016 and 2019, when Gran Destino Tower was built, and the resort’s rooms were last updated. So we would not be surprised to see more refurbishment announcements for the resort in the future. However, at this time, the only notice is the one listed above for the convention center.
