Donald and Daisy Meet Guests Near Garden Gate Gifts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
As of late, Donald and Daisy Duck have been meeting guests at a location near Garden Gate Gifts in the Oasis of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This pair has moved quite a bit this last year. You may remember they were meeting at a temporary location at the Harambe Train Station after Dinoland, U.S.A., closed last February. For now, they are meeting in their safari suits at this location near the park’s entrance. For reference, Garden Gate Gifts is just past the ticket turnstiles on the right, almost immediately after you enter the park.
We got in line for this meet-and-greet at 11:54 a.m., and there were about 20-25 guests ahead of us. While the line was long and the weather was hot, it wasn’t the worst place to wait. As you can see from the photo below, we all had plenty of shade.
We met Donald and Daisy Duck at 12:08 p.m. So it was approximately a 15-minute wait. During that time, they left once for a break, but returned shortly thereafter. Both Donald and Daisy sign autographs at this meet-and-greet. You’ll want to have your autograph books out and ready for them to sign. Typically, characters sign autographs before taking photos.
Donald and Daisy were happy to pose for a few photos. A PhotoPass photographer was available at this meet-and-greet on the day of our visit.
This character meet-and-greet is listed in the My Disney Experience app. You’ll want to check the app on the day of your visit for exact locations and times. Remember that there are many changes taking place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This means we’ll likely see more character meet-and-greet locations shift. Our best advice is to use the app as your guide in the park, and if you can’t find someone, ask a cast member at another character’s meet-and-greet location. The cast members who work with characters usually wear blue shirts. Here are our instructions for using the app to locate characters:
How to Locate Donald and Daisy in the My Disney Experience App
- Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
- Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
- After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
- Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
- Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
- As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.
*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit.
