Goofy and Pluto Meet Guests in Asia at Disney's Animal Kingdom

As of this update, Goofy and Pluto have been meeting guests in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You may remember we last saw Goofy meeting guests at the Harambe Train Station back last Fall after his meet-and-greet in Dinoland, U.S.A. closed. Likewise, Pluto moved to the Oasis when his meet-and-greet location at Donald’s Dino-Bash closed. Now you can find the pair meeting in the Asia section of the park, just before the scenic photo spot of Expedition Everest.

For reference, if you’re at the front of the park, you’ll take the bridge to Asia (right side of the Tree of Life) and take a right toward Expedition Everest. If they are out meeting, you’ll soon see Goofy and Pluto on the right-hand side of the walkway. I took a picture of the location while we were waiting, so you would have an idea. The red umbrella in the photo indicates the location of the scenic photo spot I mentioned above.

We only waited a few minutes for this meet-and-greet. Pluto and Goofy both signed autographs at this location. It’s always fun to see Pluto provide his signature. He props the autograph book on his nose.

After signing, they both posed for a few photos. A PhotoPass photographer was present at this location on the day of our visit.

This character meet-and-greet is listed in the My Disney Experience app. You’ll want to check the app on the day of your visit for exact locations and times. Remember that many changes are taking place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This means we’ll likely see more character meet-and-greet locations shift. Our best advice is to use the app as your guide in the park, and if you can’t find someone, ask a cast member at another character’s meet-and-greet location. The cast members who work with characters usually wear blue shirts. Here are our instructions for using the app to locate characters:

How to Locate Goofy and Pluto in the My Disney Experience App

Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.

*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear from the app. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit. Here is a photo of their autographs. The “O” in Pluto looks like his paw, and Goof always puts his “F” backwards.
