Disney’s Grand Floridian Lobby and Other Resort Areas to Receive Enhancements
Walt Disney World has announced that the Grand Floridian Resort will receive enhancements to select areas starting in April 2025. Per the announcement, work will be completed in the lobby, and portions of the lobby will be closed at times. Here is the exact wording from the announcement.
As part of the ongoing enhancements at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, phased updates to the lobby, convention center, and select areas will begin on April 14. Portions of the lobby will close at times, and Guests may encounter changes to their path of travel. While construction will be noticeable during daytime hours, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions—and all pools, dining, and other amenities will remain available. As renovations continue at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the gingerbread display will not be available during the holiday season in 2025.

Update: This statement originally said the work would be completed by November. It has been updated and no longer reflects an end date. Another posted notice for the resort reads:
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently undergoing refurbishment. Guests will be able to see and hear construction around the resort – including the lobby – during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available. Please allow for extra travel time.

You may remember a few years back in 2022, Disney announced that the Grand Floridian’s lobby would receive an update. At the time, the announcement stated the lobby “will maintain the classic theming you know and love with some fresh new enhancements.” Later in 2023, the lobby was walled off in sections and repainted. However, no furnishings or floor coverings were changed. With this new announcement, we expect things to move forward with the lobby enhancement.
