Magic of Disney Animation at Hollywood Studios: Photos and Full Video Tour
The Magic of Disney Animation is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on September 14, 2026, bringing a new collection of interactive experiences and character encounters to the reimagined Animation Courtyard. Inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios campus in Burbank, California, the new space invites guests to step into the world of Disney Animation and see some of their favorite characters in a whole new way.
The concept was inspired by the Emmy Award-winning short film Once Upon A Studio, which brings generations of Disney Animation characters together inside the Burbank studio. At Hollywood Studios, that idea comes to life through experiences such as Off the Page!, a new drawing experience with Olaf, an interactive play area for little ones inspired by Alice in Wonderland, and the Once Upon A Studio theater.

Take a nearly 8-minute tour of the new Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios and the short film Once Upon a Studio, this new space brings the story to life with wonderful areas that imagine what Disney characters are up to after stepping out of their portraits.

Next, we have our first sneak peek of Drawn to Wonderland, an interior play area designed for children ages 6 months to 5 years old. The immersive playground is inspired by the original Alice in Wonderland concept art created by Disney Legend Mary Blair. Guests can expect to see nods to the Mad Tea Party, the Mad Hatter’s house, the Queen of Hearts’ vibrant rose garden, and the Cheshire Cat’s mysterious Tugley Wood. Disney also shared a look inside the updated Once Upon a Studio Theater! The Once Upon A Studio Theater offers guests a chance to watch the Emmy Award-winning short film that inspired the new Magic of Disney Animation. The theater celebrates more than a century of Disney Animation, with enhanced effects and artwork along the walls that bring additional characters into the experience.
The new Off the Page! area brings the artistry of Disney Animation to life through themed spaces where guests can meet favorite characters. Each setting is inspired by a different part of the animation process, creating unique backdrops for photos and character encounters. In the Story department, for example, Mulan can be found alongside an oversized storyboard panel. Disney previously shared a list of characters who will meet at Off the Page when it opens.
