Signature Dining at Disney World: A Complete Guide with Our Rankings for 2026
Some of the most memorable meals we’ve had at Disney World have been at signature restaurants. These fine dining experiences are often worth the splurge, but with so many options, it can be difficult to choose the one that’s perfect for you. In fact, approximately 25 fine-dining restaurants are competing for your reservation.
Whether you’re new to fine dining at Disney World or are looking to try something new, this guide will hopefully answer your questions and/or provide some ideas for fresh culinary experiences. For many of us, a lavish meal with sophisticated cuisine is what we look forward to the most as we plan our Disney World vacations.
Signature dining focuses on the restaurant’s location, ambiance, and food preparation. If you are interested in culinary arts or consider yourself a gourmet, you’ll want to secure at least one reservation at a fine-dining restaurant. Sometimes, we like to squeeze in two experiences over a week’s vacation. But we would caution to spreadout both reservations and consider how you plan other table service options. You don’t want to get mid-way through your trip and feel as though you’ve overdone things.
To help you figure things out, we’ll review several commonly asked questions about signature dining. Then, I’ll share what we consider to be among the best signature dining restaurants at Disney World. Finally, toward the end, we’ve listed every fine dining option by location.

Questions about Disney Signature Dining
Here are a few questions you might have regarding fine dining experiences at Walt Disney World.
What is signature dining? Simply put, signature dining is fine dining or fancy restaurants. We’re talking about five-star restaurants. Signature dining also translates to expensive, so make sure you preview the menus before making that reservation.
Do signature dining restaurants have a dress code? Yes, you’ll want to adhere to the following general requirements.
- For men: Khakis, Slacks, Jeans, or Dress Shorts with Collared Shirts. Sports Coats are optional.
- For women: Capris, Pants, Skirts, Dresses, Jeans, or Dress Shorts
- Not Allowed: Tank Tops, Swim Suits, Swim Suit Cover-Ups, Hats for Gentlemen, Cut-offs, Torn Clothes, no T-shirts with offensive language or graphics, Flip-Flops
Keep in mind that this is Disney World. It’s not uncommon to see guests dressed casually. However, you will probably also see guests dressed to the nines.
Is signature dining available on the Disney Dining Plan? Guests using the Disney Dining Plan can redeem two table service restaurant credits for one meal at participating restaurants. Table service credits at brunch, lunch, or dinner include the choice of an entree, dessert, and beverage (including an alcoholic beverage, to those applicable). As a whole, the Disney Dining plan includes:
- 1 Quick-Service Meal (per night of your stay)
- 1 Table-Service Meal (per night of your stay)
- 1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Drink (per night of your stay)
- 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug (per person)
We recommended saving a few dining credits to exchange for a signature dining experience. For example, you might enjoy breakfast in your room for a couple of days or split a quick-service meal with someone in your group to save that extra table-service credit.
See our list of Disney Dining Plan Restaurants for 2026 if you’re trying to figure out which restaurants participate. Not all signature dining locations take the dining plan.
Do I need reservations for signature dining?
Yes. It is rare to find seating at a signature restaurant without advanced dining reservations. Therefore, as soon as your reservation window opens, it is best to secure any desired dining reservation immediately. Reservations are available up to 60 days in advance. Resort guests can make reservations up to 60 days in advance for the entire length of their stay.
Best Disney Signature Restaurants
Now that we’ve covered the basics for signature dining, let’s discuss what we consider the best signature restaurants at Walt Disney World. Of course, with so many options, we haven’t dined at every single location. However, we’ve likely experienced more than the average guest.
As a whole, we recommend selecting the restaurant that most interests you. However, there are a few that we favor more than others. If you visit regularly, we recommend making a list of the signature dining options that most interest you. Then, change things up by picking a new one for each visit. Fair warning. When you find a restaurant you love, it’s difficult to stray away from it on your next visit. But, of course, that’s not the worst problem you could have. Here’s an overview of our top choices for signature dining.
#1 Flying Fish at Disney’s BoardWalk
Flying Fish is the signature dining location at Disney’s BoardWalk. Like most fine dining restaurants, they offer a seasonal menu with a few staples that remain present throughout the year. On a recent visit, I tried their signature potato-wrapped red snapper. Due to its deliciousness, I would have a difficult time not ordering this option again. It had a comfort-like appeal to it that was completely unexpected. We had a larger party of about 10-12 guests for this meal, and everyone agreed that it was a phenomenal experience.

#2 The Hollywood Brown Derby
Coming in second in our rankings for top signature dining restaurant is Disney’s Hollywood Brown Derby. (We eat here more often than anywhere else on the list.) This restaurant is in the heart of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a few steps away from the Chinese Theater replica.
Because of its theme park location, the Brown Derby offers lunch and dinner. You might have noticed that all resort signature restaurants only offer dinner service. While theme park locations offer both lunch and dinner. If you’re hoping to secure a reservation at the Brown Derby but can’t get one, be aware that the restaurant has an outdoor lounge that takes walk-ups. (See our Brown Derby Lounge Review for more details.)
Inside, the Brown Derby provides the atmosphere you’d expect in old Hollywood. Everything is black and white with a mix of gorgeous wood tones and pops of red. My go-tos here are the Escargot, which is pictured below, the salmon or halibut (both seasonal), and now and then, I’ll order the famous Cobb Salad. You’ll see quite a few salads delivered to surrounding tables during your visit. We have a Disney’s Hollywood Brown Derby Review if you would like to learn more.

# 3 Disney’s California Grill
For many years, California Grill ruled the top of this list. It was our personal favorite restaurant at Disney World. Unfortunately, Disney changed the entire restaurant’s concept a few years back, incorporating a required prix fixe menu and doing away with their popular Sunday brunch. We just don’t love the experience anymore.
Why am I leaving it on the list? Well, it’s a beautiful restaurant with stunning views, and some of our favorites are still on the menu. Those favorites include the market salad (changes seasonally), the barbecue eel sushi roll, the Sonoma goat cheese ravioli, and the grilled pork tenderloin.
In the past, I ordered what sounded good to me. These days, you have to choose one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert for a set price. I don’t like to complain much, but for me, the former experience was greatly superior to the current one.
That said, if you had never eaten there before, you will probably thoroughly enjoy it. The entire restaurant is gorgeous, and you have the opportunity to return and watch Magic Kingdom’s fireworks from their private viewing deck later that evening. So I leave the restaurant on our list, because I think most of our readers will truly enjoy it. I’m also hopeful that something will eventually give, and that guests will have unique options for ordering again, even if they keep the prix fixe menu as one of them.

So, yes. We still rank the California Grill highly. You can’t beat the ambiance. We prefer to dine here at sunset. You can probably see why from the photo below. (Those window view tables are often the luck of the draw.)

#4 Jiko, The Cooking Place
Jiko, The Cooking Place, comes in as our fourth choice for the best signature restaurant at Disney World. But it could just as easily come in as our top choice. Jiko (pronounced Gee-Koe) is at the Jambo House portion of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Its location is spectacular. One perk of enjoying a meal here is that you can tour the lodge before or after your dinner. You can explore the tremendous lobby or walk out and see what animals are grazing on the savannas.
As far as dinner, the food makes this restaurant stand out amongst the crowd. You’ll find completely unexpected food combinations and expertly prepared cuisine. Anticipate a mix of African and Indian inspired flavors while dining in this serene setting. It will be a relaxing evening. This is a restaurant where you want to take your time, and I must recommend ordering one of their specialty teas.

#5 Tiffins Restaurant
Coming in as our fifth choice this year is Tiffins, the signature dining location at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I like Tiffins because I always feel the urge to try something new here. I love Tiffins because I can just as well go here and enjoy their signature burger for lunch. We have a separate review of the signature prix fixe burger lunch if you want to know more. (To be clear, I’m not completely against prix fixe meals. I just don’t like for them to be my only option.)
Tiffins is a beautiful restaurant. It has this sort of dark and relaxing interior. Even writing this, I feel bad that it’s number five because it has every right to come in as one or two. It’s that good. Similar to the Brown Derby above, Tiffins is open for lunch and dinner service.

Fine Dining Considerations for 2026
Before we preview the full list of signature restaurants, I wanted to add a few considerations. Our fine dining rankings above are solely ranked by places we enjoy. We’ve removed Yachtsman Steakhouse for this year only because they are closing for a significant refurbishment. They will reopen again later this year.
We also really love Takumi Tei (Asian Cuisine) and Il Mulino (Italian). If you’re interested in these types of cuisines, you shouldn’t hesitate to try them. Of course, Takumi Tei is one of the most expensive dining locations at Disney World. So you’ll want to preview the menu beforehand. We have a separate review of Takumi Tei from when the restaurant opened a few years back.
I have not eaten at Bourbon Steak by Chef Michael Mina, which replaced Shula’s Steakhouse at the Dolphin last year. Shula’s was our top choice for signature dining up until it closed. From what I’ve seen, Bourbon Steak has received rave reviews, and I do look forward to trying it at some point.
One other thing is that I didn’t include the signature restaurants at Disney Springs in our rankings because most of them make our list of Best Restaurants at Disney Springs.
