Where to Find Timon Near the Oasis at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Timon, the loveable meerkat from The Lion King, has been roaming the Oasis of Disney’s Animal Kingdom as of late. Timon formerly met at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, which closed earlier this year and reopened as Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station. Since that time, he seems to have found a new home roaming the Oasis. We ran into him on a recent visit and were able to grab a few quick photos.

You probably won’t be surprised to learn that we caught him looking for grubs (AKA bugs), which is his favorite snack. For reference, the Oasis is the immediate area when you first pass through the ticketed entry of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Oasis is home to several small animal habitats and quite a few character meet-and-greets. You may remember we met Donald and Daisy Duck near Garden Gate Gifts, which is near the same area we found Timon.

Since Timon is a roaming character, he may not stop for everyone, and a PhotoPass photographer is not available. He might sign autographs if there’s not too much of a crowd. Our best advice is to politely ask for a hug, photo, or signature. Here are a few photos. You can tell he was looking for grubs when we ran into him.

As always, make sure to check the My Disney Experience app for Timon’s exact times and confirm the location on the day of your visit. While we try to report changes to the meet-and-greet locations, it’s important to note that these things do change from time to time. So the app is your best resource while at the parks. How to Use the My Disney Experience App to Find Timon

Open the My Disney Experience app and select the pin drop at the bottom of the home screen.
Scroll (left to right) through the icons at the top of the screen and select “Characters.”
After selecting characters, use the locations drop-down to select the park of your choice.
Then, on the bottom right of the screen, select “Show List.”
Scroll through the list of characters with their times and locations.
As an alternative, you can use the map view to locate characters.

*As the day passes, you might notice that characters disappear. When their last scheduled time passes, the meet-and-greet automatically disappears. A new schedule won’t be loaded until the following day. It is essential to check the app for meet-and-greets on the day of your visit. One last thing! Timon often rotates this roaming location with Rafiki. So if Timon’s not out, you might run into Rafiki. He is also listed in the app when available.
