More Disney Hotels Now Offering Direct Bus Service to Water Parks
Depending on where you’re staying, your visit to one of Disney’s Water Parks this summer might have just gotten a little simpler. Walt Disney World has added new hotels to the list of resorts offering direct bus service to the water parks. This update is already in place, and likely due to the upcoming influx of guests taking advantage of Disney’s free water park admission for resort hotel guests between May 26th and September 8th.
Why is this a big deal? Before 2019, all resorts offered direct bus service to and from the water parks. Unfortunately, when the water parks reopened a few years back, a transfer process was put in place. Most guests visiting Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon have to take a bus to Disney Springs and then transfer. For Blizzard Beach, most guests take a bus to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and transfer from there. While the transfer is not a major ordeal, it’s an extra step that adds to the process of traveling to and from the water park. This new bus service for select resorts eliminates the need for a transfer stop along the way.
With both water parks now open for the summer, the new direct routes will depend on where you’re staying.

- Guests who are staying at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter Resorts can now enjoy a direct bus connection to the park on dates when Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is open.
- Guests staying at Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, and the All-Star Resorts all have direct bus access to Disney’s Blizzard Beach when the water park is open.
Disney notes that bus service to the water park begins approximately 30 minutes before it opens. It ends approximately 60 minutes after the water park closes. So you do not need to be in a rush to leave if you stay until the end of the day.
Regardless of where you’re staying, the bus signage at your resort hotel will indicate what method you’ll take. This is an older photo of a sign below, but you can see where it says, “Disney’s Blizzard Beach, take the Animal Kingdom bus and transfer.” If you do not have to transfer, the sign will simply provide the time for the next bus.

You can also check the transportation section for your resort hotel in the My Disney Experience app or ask a cast member if you’re unsure. They will get you in the right direction.
