New Dead End at Seven Seas Drive Will Change Routes to Disney’s Polynesian Beginning July 13
Things are changing once again for guests driving to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. As the ongoing road construction project continues, a new dead end will affect how you access the resort.
Beginning July 13, Seven Seas Drive will dead-end at the Polynesian’s entrance. If you have not visited since last December, note that the resort’s main entrance was relocated to the intersection of Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way.
Moving forward, guests traveling west on Seven Seas Drive will arrive directly at the Polynesian’s new entrance. The former entrance is now reserved for buses and service vehicles.

What Does the Seven Seas Drive Dead End Mean for You?
Depending on where you’re headed, you’ll want to take the following routes.
Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Guests of the Island Tower will need to use Floridian Way. You will take a right into the Island Tower’s separate entrance for check-in. As you approach Magic Kingdom’s main gate, you’ll take the flyover to the far left in the direction of Grand Floridian. (You will not want to drive to the Great Ceremonial House entrance at the Polynesian. With the new dead end, this route will require a decent amount of backtracking if you go the wrong way.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
If you’re driving to the Polynesian, you’ll need to take N World Drive and follow signage to reach the Polynesian. (At this point, you would continue straight on World Drive, which angles slightly to the right. For reference points, Magic Kingdom’s gate will be to your right, and the Floridian Way flyover will be to your left.) You’ll then take a left on Seven Seas Drive and follow the road until it dead-ends at the Polynesian’s new entrance.
Final Thoughts
As construction continues, this latest change is another adjustment for guests navigating the area. If you’re planning to drive to the resort after July 13th, it’s probably worth reviewing the route in advance, especially if you haven’t visited since the Polynesian’s entrance was relocated. There is a significant amount of construction throughout the area. If you do miss a turn or go the wrong way, you’ll want to be patient and wait until you can get to a point where you can safely turn around.

From our understanding, the dead end of Seven Seas Drive will be permanent. For many, this will be a significant change, especially for those who’ve visited the Polynesian regularly for decades. What do you think about this change?
