Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace Refurbishment Extended at Disney’s Polynesian
Walt Disney World has extended the refurbishment dates for Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at Disney’s Polynesian. The refurbishment originally started in mid-April and was expected to last through June. However, the projected completion date is now estimated for late October. Here is the official wording from the Walt Disney World website about the extension:
Through late 2026, some areas of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are being refurbished. This work includes the reconfiguration of the front entrance roadway. Additionally, some views of the theme parks and other surrounding areas may be impacted. Most Resort dining, pools and amenities will remain available.
Â
Through late October, Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be temporarily closed due to refurbishment work at the Grand Ceremonial House.
Â
While construction activity will be noticeable during daytime hours, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions. Please allow for extra travel time when arriving at or leaving the Resort.Walt Disney World
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto will remain open during this time. This closure only affects the outdoor location.

Other Recent Polynesian Updates
This is one of many ongoing refurbishments at the Polynesian. Earlier this week, we provided an update that the resort’s new bus stop had opened. The bus stop is located in the same place as the former stop. However, a new bus-only loop was installed, and drivers now use a dedicated entrance and exit, which will hopefully make the arrival and departure process more efficient.
Last week, we shared that the Seven Seas Drive, the road that runs directly in front of the resort, now dead ends into the Polynesian’s main entrance. If you haven’t visited the Polynesian lately, you’ll want to be aware that the resort has a new entrance as of last December. Those driving to the resort will want to familiarize themselves with the changes.
You may remember we visited the Polynesian last month to check out some of the progress. At that time, we reported that the resort’s boat dock had reopened and shared photos of the scaffolding around the Great Ceremonial House.
