The Bay Cove Pool at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower to Close for Lengthy Refurbishment in 2026
Walt Disney World has announced that the Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower will close for a lengthy refurbishment in 2026. Bay Lake Tower is the Disney Vacation Club property situated adjacent to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The entire resort is undergoing a room refurbishment along with other dates. Here is the official announcement from Disney:
From January 26, 2026, to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will temporarily be closed for maintenance. The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will remain open for Guests to enjoy.

If you plan a stay at Bay Lake Tower during this time, you’ll want to be aware of this closure. The Bay Cove Pool is restricted to guests of Bay Lake Tower. Guests of Disney’s Contemporary cannot access it. So the pool, while busy, is often less crowded than the Contemporary’s Feature Pool.
Bay Lake Tower is undergoing a complete room renovation, which is expected to be completed by September 2025. (Update: This room renovation is now complete, and you should receive a renovated room if you stay here.)
