Alice in Wonderland Aquatic Play Area Closed at Disney’s Grand Floridian + Pool Updates

We stopped by Disney’s Grand Floridian over the weekend and noticed that the Alice in Wonderland-themed aquatic play area was closed for refurbishment. From our understanding, it has been closed for a little over a week now. Unfortunately, at the time of publication, this specific refurbishment is not listed on the Walt Disney World website.

Therefore, if you have an upcoming stay planned with the expectation of having access to this amenity, you’ll need to check with the resort for exact dates. We can only confirm that the splash pad was closed on our visit. The entire structure was drained, and workers appeared to be resurfacing the flooring. It didn’t look like a quick fix, but I’ve been wrong before. Both pools at the Grand Floridian were open.

During our visit, I also noticed that MagicBand readers were added to the Grand Floridian’s Beach Pool, Courtyard Pool, and the aquatic play area. We see many complaints about overcrowded pools at Disney World. So hopefully resort guests will see this as a sign of good faith from Disney to deter non-resort guests from entering the pool area. If you’re visiting the pool, you will need your MagicBand or Keys to the World card (room key) to access the pool.
