Disney’s Yacht Club Exterior Refurbishment Update (August 2026)
We recently took a stroll around the Epcot Resorts area and noticed that the exterior refurbishment at the Yacht Club has moved on to the resort entrance facing Crescent Lake. If you’re staying at the resort in the near future, you’ll have to take a small detour when coming and going.
The good news? I believe that when this area is completed, the majority of the resort will have all new siding and a fresh roof. The only area that I cannot account for is the resort’s convention center. That said, the convention center is so isolated I don’t believe work in that area would have much impact on a stay. As a reminder, the resort’s exterior refurbishment is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. So let’s take a look at the current state of things.

While the work is necessary, it is a little jarring to see so much scaffolding.

You may remember that the exterior refurb has been completed in sections. Over the last year, we’ve seen nearly the entire front of the resort transform from the left to right side.

On our visit in June, the area facing the gazebo was completely covered in scaffolding. Now most of the area is clear.

We’ll take a closer look at the resort’s entrance.

Signage around the resort indicates an alternative path to and from the lobby.

Inside, the windows in the hallway leading to the lobby were covered with a frosted wrap, blocking views of the exterior work.

A curtain is installed toward the back of the lobby, blocking use of the primary doors. The lobby was pretty dim with no sunlight filtering through.

We stopped by the resort’s gift shop to refill our resort mug, and I noticed that the windows in this hallway were back to normal. They were previously frosted as scaffolding was in place over this area.

There was a small area toward the front, and the area facing Stormalong Bay still had some scaffolding.

Here is a look at the area from the opposite side of the feature pool.

Overall, the work is moving along, and it’s good to see this area being completed before the busy holiday season. We’ve been tracking this refurbishment for the last year. Here are our photo reports of the progress:
- In June of 2026, the scaffolding at the Yacht Club covered the gazebo area.
- Back in March of 2026, the scaffolding covered most of the west side of the resort facing Crescent Lake.
- In early November of 2025, the resort’s new port cochere entrance was completed and reopened to the public.
- Back in August of 2025, we saw scaffolding on the far side of the resort that wrapped around to the front. This is about the time the exterior refurbishment began.
You may also remember that the resort’s Friendship dock will temporarily close later this month as maintenance work is completed.
