Grand Floridian Cafe Reopening: Before and After Photos and New Menu Items
The Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa reopens tomorrow, November 2nd, after a refurbishment that began July 20th. The restaurant has been closed for several months while its dining room was updated, and we now have a first look at the refreshed space.
Below, we’ll take a before-and-after look at the refurbishment and share a first look at several menu items guests can expect when the restaurant reopens. From an apple butter cinnamon roll to returning favorites like the restaurant’s classic club sandwich, a few dishes might be worth a closer look. Of course, regular readers already know we think the Grand Floridian Cafe is one of the best restaurants at Disney World, and we’re very glad it’s reopening soon!
Grand Floridian Cafe Before and After the Refurbishment
The Grand Floridian Cafe is the last restaurant at the resort to undergo a refurbishment in recent years. Based on the images Disney has shared, Grand Floridian Cafe appears to retain its traditional look and feel, with pops of color and subtle decorative details adding a refreshed touch. Here is a look at the dining room before the refurbishment.

Now, here is a look at the finished dining room. Based on the images Disney has shared, the updates appear to include more pops of color, fresh carpeting, new tables and chairs, and updated light fixtures. The changes seem subtle overall, preserving the restaurant’s traditional look while giving the space a refreshed appearance.

A First Look at the Grand Floridian Cafe Menu
In addition to the before-and-after look, Disney has shared a preview of new and returning menu items. They include the following:
- Apple Butter Cinnamon Roll with cinnamon-caramel crumb
- Cobb Salad: Romaine, house-roasted turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato, egg, blue cheese, Cobb dressing
- Fried Green Tomatoes with remoulade sauce
- The Club: House-roasted turkey, carved ham, bacon, herbed cheese spread, crispy onions, tomato focaccia, house-seasoned steak fries
We dine at the Grand Floridian Cafe approximately 2-3 times a year, and I’ve never seen the Cobb Salad or Apple Butter Cinnamon Roll on the menu. The Club Sandwich is one of my personal favorites, and the fried green tomatoes are on the current menu. Here are a few photos.

Final Thoughts
As a reminder, the Grand Floridian Cafe reopens November 2, 2026. This refurbishment was originally announced back in March, and the restaurant has been closed since July 20th.
We’ll be interested to see how the refreshed dining room and menu come together, hopefully within the next few weeks! In the meantime, you can find more information about dining at the resort in our Grand Floridian Restaurant Guide, or read our Grand Floridian Cafe brunch review for details on our last dining experience here earlier this year.
