Disney Lakeshore Lodge Will Have Its Own Boat Dock with Service to Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World has released concept art that shows a boat dock at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge. It was confirmed that the resort will offer service to Magic Kingdom Park. Both Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and Wilderness Lodge have their own boat docks offering service to and from Magic Kingdom. This is good news because with 947 rooms at the new Lakeshore Lodge, there will likely be many guests using the boat service. Here is a zoomed-in area of the new concept art released today that shows the location of the boat dock.

At this time, we do not know if Lakeshore Lodge will join the existing afternoon-to-evening boat service that runs between the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness. We hope that the former service that ran most of the day will eventually be reinstated and include all four resorts. This would be an incredible offering, allowing more guests to enjoy breakfast and lunch at the neighboring resorts without having to make a transfer. Again, this is just our hope; no resort-to-resort boat service details have been confirmed by Disney at this time.
Here are a few other details we know about the resort to date:
- As mentioned above, the resort will offer 967 rooms. Units will range from studios to suites, with the addition of lake houses on the waterfront.
- Disney Lakeshore Lodge will be inspired by Walt Disney’s appreciation of nature. The resort will offer nods to animated classics like Bambi, Pocahontas, and Brother Bear.
- The resort will offer floor-to-ceiling windows that allow natural light and showcase exterior views of its wildlife surroundings.
- Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is scheduled to open in the summer of 2027.
