Exterior Maintenance Work at Hospitality House Extended Through Mid-September
Walt Disney World has announced an extension of the exterior maintenance work taking place at Hospitality House at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. The refurbishment work was announced earlier this year, and this specific resort area was expected to be completed by early June. However, it appears that there was a delay, and the work will take place between now and mid-September. Here is the original announcement from a few months back:
From March 16 through early June, Hospitality House at Disney’s Old Key West Resort will undergo exterior maintenance work. Guests may see or hear refurbishment work during daytime hours, and at times may be directed to take alternate paths of travel.

More on the Exterior Refurbishment at Old Key West
Disney’s Old Key West has been undergoing a phase-by-phase exterior refurbishment over the last few years that’s brought new siding and fresh paint to many of the resort’s buildings. If you would like an idea, we have a report with fairly recent photos of Disney’s Old Key West.
Additionally, most of the resort’s leisure pools have seen a refurbishment in the last year:
- The South Point pool area was closed for refurbishment between March and April 2026.
- The Turtle Pond pool area was closed for refurbishment between January and February 2026.
- The Miller’s Road pool area was closed for refurbishment between September and November 2025.
Lastly, we shared an announcement earlier today that Old Key West’s boat dock will temporarily close between July 20th and early August 2026. During this time, guests will need to use the resort’s bus service to Disney Springs.
Disney’s Old Key West is a Disney Vacation Club Resort in the Disney Springs Area. A semi-major room refurbishment is expected to be announced for the resort sometime between now and 2027.
