The Village Green at Disney’s BoardWalk to Close for Refurbishment
Walt Disney World has announced that the Village Green courtyard at Disney’s BoardWalk will close from August 10th through September 4th. The courtyard will close as work takes place in select areas. During this time, the typical recreation activities offered at the Village Green will be relocated. Here is the official announcement:
Now through late 2026, refurbishment work will take place in select areas of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. As part of this work, the Village Green courtyard will be closed from August 10 through September 4, 2026. Recreation activities typically offered on the Village Green—including Movie Under the Stars, yoga, and crafts—will be relocated to other locations throughout the Resort.

Disney’s Boardwalk has undergone an extensive refurbishment in the last few years. During that time, many changes have taken place at the resort, including the closure of several long-standing shops and restaurants. You may remember that Disney recently announced two new additions for the resort:
- A new lounge, called the Hurly Burly, will offer family-friendly activities during the afternoon and transition to an adults-only venue (21 and over) by nightfall.
- A shop, Basin on the Boardwalk, is also expected to open by the end of 2026. Basin offers a collection of bath products, some of which are customizable.
Of course, we are most excited to hear more details about what else is to come. To date, all we know is that a new quick service location is coming to the Boardwalk. Hopefully, this closure of the Village Green means that work is moving forward with these locations. An empty storefront (the former Promenade Art Gallery) faces the Village Green, and that space will likely be used for one of these new offerings.
