Closing Date Announced for Upcoming Grand Floridian Cafe Refurbishment
A closing date of July 20th has been set for the upcoming refurbishment of the Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney’s Grand Floridian. You may remember that the cafe’s refurbishment was first announced back last April. At that time, it was only noted that the restaurant would close sometime in mid-July. Now, the Walt Disney World website reflects that the last day of brunch and dinner service will be on July 19th.
Starting July 20th, the restaurant’s brunch service will still be available at Citricos on the 2nd floor of the resort’s lobby. During the refurbishment, the restaurant’s brunch menu, which combines breakfast and lunch items, will be offered daily at Citricos between 7:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The cafe’s refurbishment is expected to last through October 2026. Here is the official announcement regarding the refurbishment from the Walt Disney World website.
From mid-July through October 2026, Grand Floridian Cafe will be temporarily closed for refurbishment, and brunch will temporarily move to CÃtricos. All other dining locations at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will remain available for Guests to enjoy. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will undergo continued renovations in select areas, including the covered entrance, through early 2027. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours and may need to take alternate walking paths around the Resort hotel.Â

This work is part of the Grand Floridian’s ongoing multi-year refurbishment. The Grand Floridian Cafe is the resort’s casual table-service restaurant, normally offering breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Additionally, the resort is home to three signature restaurants that are open for dinner only, one of which has consistently earned a Michelin Star three years running.
Other options include a character dining location, multiple lounges, a quick-service restaurant, and a poolside bar and grill. Guests staying at the Grand Floridian may also enjoy room service. For more on dining, see our overview of restaurants at Disney’s Grand Floridian.
If you have plans to stay at the Grand Floridian during this time, you might also plan a few meals at the neighboring Polynesian, which is within walking distance. We really enjoy dining at Wailulu Bar and Grill at the Island Tower and Kona Cafe inside the Great Ceremonial House. Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary is another comparable table service option.
