The Laundry Facilities at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
If you’re planning to do laundry during your stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, you’ll have options. The resort has multiple laundry facilities available at both Jambo House (the main lodge) and Kidani Village (the Disney Vacation Club Resort).
Between the two resort areas, you’ll find four laundromats. Guests of Jambo House can access the following facilities:
- Kudu Trail 2nd Floor Laundry Room
- Simba’s Clubhouse Laundry Room
- Zebra Trail 5th Floor DVC Laundry Room* (DVC Units ONLY)
*You will need your MagicBand to gain entrance to the laundry room on the 5th Floor. This laundry room is dedicated to those staying in the Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas, which is part of the Disney Vacation Club. So if you’re staying in a deluxe studio unit, this will be your laundry room. Laundry is a DVC benefit, and there is no cost to use the machines in this specific resort area.

The resort typically provides a complimentary package of laundry detergent for villa guests. It’s usually left in the room. Those staying in a one-bedroom or larger suite will have a washer and dryer in their unit. Laundry for regular guests averages $3.50 per cycle for both the washer and dryer. A vending machine in the regular laundry rooms dispenses detergent for $1.00 per box. Make sure to read the label. Most of the individual packages are good for two loads.
Formerly, the laundry rooms had a machine that took credit and debit cards. However, that has changed. Now, you have to scan a QR code with your mobile phone. The instructions:
- Momentarily tap the machine sticker with your NFC-capable smartphone or scan a machine code with your smartphone camera or QR code.
- Pay with Google Pay, Apple Pay, or a credit card.
- Load the machine and press start.
Or you can visit MyCSCGO.com to start your load of laundry. Tip: I am not a fan of downloading apps, but if you need to do one or more loads of laundry, the app is more convenient. If you don’t download it, you’ll have to continually enter your credit card information for each load. (Ask me how I know this!) When I finally broke down and got the app, we were also given a 0.25 discount per load of laundry for using the app. But that might not be a long term thing.
We get this question often–do you leave your laundry and return to pick it up. My answer is yes, I go to the pool or back to the room. Then, I return when the cycle is completed. I would not leave my laundry sitting in the machine. I use the app and often set an alarm on my phone to return about the time it’s completed. I almost always do laundry when I’m staying two or more nights at any Disney World Resort. Typically, laundry facilities at Disney are near the pool. However, that’s not the case with Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge or Kidani Village.
The Simba’s Clubhouse laundry room sits next door to Simba’s Clubhouse on the lower level of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is the largest of the laundry facilities at the resort. On this visit, I took a little video so you would know what to expect.
As you can see, a decent-sized waiting area with a television is available. A few racks are nice for transporting clothes back to your room if needed. Of course, you’ll need to return it when you’re finished.
Lastly, another laundry facility is available at Kidani Village. It is a few steps down the hall off the main lobby near the arcade. Since this is a dedicated Disney World Villa Resort, the laundry room here is available to all guests of Kidani Village at no extra cost. You’ll need to request extra detergent from the front desk or housekeeping.
All of the laundry facilities at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge open with your room key. You should be able to use a MagicBand, Keys to the World card, or the My Disney Experience app.

There is no laundry room on the 5th floor for dvc members at Jamba house. This was confirmed by both housekeeping and front desk staff. Please update your article. You had me walking around for 20 mins trying to find it carrying two bags of laundry.

The laundry room is located off the bridge in the hallway to the right. I’ve personally used it. Have a merry Christmas.
Are the washers/dryers locked in any way or could someone potentially come steal your clothes if you leave them unattended?
Hi, they are not locked. There are a few seats and most have a television if you want to wait. I have been doing my laundry regularly at the resorts for years and haven’t had any trouble. I usually go to the pool and set an alarm to return. The newer app also has a timer that alerts you when your laundry is done.
