Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Restaurant Guide (All 5 Options)

Whether you’re visiting the resort for a meal or staying for a week’s vacation, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has excellent dining options. It’s become one of our favorite places to visit when we need an escape from the heat. The only problem is deciding where to eat!

With those thoughts in mind, we’ve compiled this dining guide for Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. We’ll first preview a list of the restaurants at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Then, we’ll preview a few of our most recent experiences. We link to additional dining reviews for each restaurant if you want to learn more details.

If you visit the resort during your Walt Disney World vacation, you might consider planning a meal at any of the restaurants. A few, however, require dining reservations. But if you don’t want to feel tied down to dining at a specific time, you’ll have a few additional options that don’t require reservations.

Here’s a list of the restaurants at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge:

How to Get to the Wilderness Lodge for Dining

Before we preview the restaurants, I wanted to share a few tips on how to get to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Depending on your starting point, you’ll have several options.

Guests of Monorail Resorts: If you’re staying at a monorail resort, take a boat from Magic Kingdom to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. You can take the monorail to Magic Kingdom and then transfer to the boat dock. (You can also take a boat from the Contemporary to the Wilderness Lodge from 3:00 p.m. until 10:45 p.m.)

Other Resorts: Take a bus to Magic Kingdom and then take a boat from Magic Kingdom to the Wilderness Lodge. Or you can take a bus from any theme park or Disney Springs to the Wilderness Lodge.

Fort Wilderness Guests: A bus runs between Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge, or you can take a boat from Fort Wilderness to the Wilderness Lodge after 3:00 p.m.

*An alternative option for anyone is to take a bus from Magic Kingdom to the Wilderness Lodge. When you visit Magic Kingdom, you’ll have to walk through security. But you do not have to enter the ticket area.

Roaring Fork

Roaring Fork is the primary quick-service dining option at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This is the perfect spot to grab a sandwich or a sweet treat during your visit. Roaring Fork is usually open all day from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. This location serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It sits at the end of the main hall of the resort’s lobby.

Roaring Fork participates in the Disney Dining Plan. Select items count as quick service credits, and snack credits are redeemable for certain items. This location offers Rapid Fill mugs. A beverage refill station is available in the dining area.

We recently dined at Roaring Fork. Here are a few photos of the items we’ve tried.

Here are a few other items. You can preview the menus on Disney’s site: breakfast menu, lunch and dinner menu, or the late-night menu. Those menus are also available in the My Disney Experience app. We have a separate review of Roaring Fork with photos of everything available at the restaurant during our last stay.

Territory Lounge

Territory Lounge is the resort’s lounge and bar. It is a few steps off the lobby, next door to Artist Point. If you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, we highly recommend checking out the menus at the deluxe resort lounges. We consider them some of the best places to have a meal. They are all kid-friendly, and most offer a kids’ menu.

Territory Lounge is as pleasant as the rest of the resort. I always enjoy admiring the theming when we dine here. This location is open daily from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Don’t forget to look up at the ceiling. It’s a map of Lewis and Clark’s expedition on the National Historic Trail.

We’ve had the Artisanal Cheese and Charcuterie board, which is enough for two to share. You might also enjoy browsing their featured cocktails. The menu offers some pretty unique selections.

Whispering Canyon Cafe

If the idea of a meal with shenanigans sounds good, don’t miss Whispering Canyon Cafe. But be warned, they’ll put you in time-out jail for requesting the ketchup. In all seriousness, we never miss the opportunity to have breakfast at this restaurant.

Whispering Canyon Cafe is open daily from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. It serves breakfast, brunch, and dinner. For breakfast, you can order lunch items or have a late breakfast.

Most of the entrée items are all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets. For example, on our last visit, I ordered the Heritage Skillet. This comes with house-made buttermilk-cheddar biscuits and sausage gravy with scrambled eggs, country potatoes, hickory-smoked bacon, pork sausage links, and Mickey-shaped waffles.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill

Geyser Point Bar and Grill is another favorite dining option at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. This location is open daily from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. However, food service is only available until 10:00 p.m. This outdoor lounge sits underneath a pavilion between the resort’s feature pool and Bay Lake. Geyser Point does not take dining reservations. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you’re staying at the resort, we definitely recommend having at least one meal here. But it’s also important to note that you can mobile order from this restaurant. During our last stay, I placed a mobile order on my way back to the resort from Epcot. When I arrived, I picked up my meal and enjoyed it in the room.

Of course, we have dined at Geyser Point many times. The scenic views of Bay Lake are gorgeous. We have left Magic Kingdom a few times to come here and escape the crowds.

If you’re staying at Wilderness Lodge, you’ll also want to be aware of the quick service window on the side of Geyser Point. This window offers the same menu as the lounge and doubles as the pool-side quick-service restaurant. You might also notice that a beverage refill station is available next to the food service window.

Storybook Dining at Artist Point

Formerly a signature restaurant, Story Book Dining at Artist Point is now a character dining experience. It is open daily from 4:00 p.m. until 9:15 p.m. and offers a prix fixe menu. Guests receive a shared appetizer, entree selection, and sweet endings shared dessert.

This meal offers a chance to meet several characters, including the very elusive Evil Queen from Snow White. Fans of Snow White will not want to miss this rare opportunity.

She makes an appearance several times throughout the meal with a special photo opportunity. Additionally, Snow White, Grumpy, and Dopey come tableside during your visit like a normal character meal. A PhotoPass photographer is usually present for the Evil Queen. However, the photographers do not come tableside for the other characters. You’ll want to bring a camera or have your phone handy for photo options.

The meal is slightly different than most dining options. First, you’ll receive a trio of appetizers to share at the table. They consist of the Wicked Shrimp Cocktail, Wild Mushroom Bisque, and the Hunter’s Pie. Then, each guest gets a choice of entree. We’ve had the Royal Prime Rib Roast, and while our cut was okay, it was overly fatty.

Toward the end, you’ll receive a trio of desserts. They are all very photogenic, but I would rather have the option to choose just one dessert that better suited my sweet tooth. Here we have the Miner’s Treasures, Fairy Tale Gooseberry Tart, and the Poison Apple. The Hunter’s Gift to the Queen comes in a special presentation.

Overall, we enjoyed the character experience at Artist Point but felt the food was mediocre at best. But we would return for the experience. We had excellent service and a fun time despite not being crazy about the food.
