Disney World’s Resort Hotel Refurbishment Schedule (2025-2027)
At any given time, multiple resorts, hotels, and villas at Walt Disney World are undergoing refurbishment. Refurbishments can range from major construction to minor items such as a brief pool closure. Below, we’ve listed scheduled resort refurbishments for the resorts.
Resort refurbishments could make or break your stay. For instance, if the resort’s feature pool was closed, you might miss out on one of the resort’s best amenities. Likewise, if you don’t mind dealing with a little extra construction, you might be able to secure a discounted rate.
Intro
Those planning an upcoming stay will likely want to consider the refurbishments listed below. For instance, do you want to stay at a hotel where loud construction begins at 9:00 a.m.? If you enjoy sleeping late, the answer is probably no. However, a little noise might not be a big deal if you plan to arrive at the parks early every morning.
Another consideration is whether you’ll spend time at the pool. When one pool closes for refurbishment, the other pools at the resort get crowded. Generally, Disney completes most pool refurbishments in the cooler months. That said, if you have a small child and see that an aquatic play area will be closed during your trip, you might consider another resort.
Of course, not all of these refurbishments are dealbreakers. You’ll need to weigh the importance of each item for yourself. Overall, I would ask myself if the resort is still worth the expense with the refurbishment that’s taking place. If not, this might be an excellent time to consider an alternative.

This list contains resort refurbishments announced for Walt Disney World. We update this article to include new announcements and other work that we notice during our resort visits.
Skyliner Refurbishment Notice
The following resorts will be directly affected by the Disney Skyliner’s yearly refurbishment in 2026 and 2027.
- Disney’s Pop Century
- Disney’s Art of Animation
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
- Disney’s Riviera Resort
The following Epcot Resorts are also within walking distance of the Skyliner and can be considered indirectly affected by the refurbishment: Disney’s Beach Club, Yacht Club, BoardWalk, Swan and Dolphin.
2026 Skyliner Closures:
From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.

All-Star Sports
The following refurbishment notice is posted for Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.
From January 2026 until late April 2026, the Surfboard Bay Pool and the kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort will be closed for maintenance. During this time, the Grand Slam Leisure Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports will continue to be available. Additionally, Guests are welcome to use the other pools throughout Disney’s All-Star Resorts, including the Calypso Pool, Piano Pool, and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort; and the Fantasia Pool, Duck Pond Pool, and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

Animal Kingdom Lodge
A complete room refurbishment is expected to begin at Jambo House in May of 2026 and last through January 2027. Here is the official announcement from Disney.
From October 2025 through May 2026, Guest rooms at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will undergo refurbishment, followed by refurbishment work at Jambo House from May 2026 through January 2027. During these times, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. All amenities will remain available throughout the refurbishment.

Kidani Village
A complete room refurbishment has finally been announced for Kidani Village and Jambo House.
From October 2025 through May 2026, Guest rooms at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will undergo refurbishment, followed by refurbishment work at Jambo House from May 2026 through January 2027. During these times, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. All amenities will remain available throughout the refurbishment.

From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.

Beach Club Resort
The following notices are posted for Disney’s Beach Club, Beach Club Villas, and Yacht Club. Please note that we visited the resort in late October and found that the port cochere and entrance work had been completed. Exterior maintenance is expected to continue through 2027. Here is the official wording:
Exterior Maintenance
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is undergoing routine exterior maintenance through 2027. This work may impact views from various locations throughout the resort, and at times, alternate paths of travel may be in place. While efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, construction may be noticeable during daytime hours. All services—including valet, luggage assistance, and transportation—will remain available. All pools, resort dining, and most other amenities will remain available.

2026 Skyliner Closures
From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.

Refurbishment General
Beginning late November 2025 and continuing throughout 2026, refurbishment work will take place in select areas of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. While Guests may see or hear work during daytime hours, most Resort amenities—including dining, recreation, and merchandise locations—will remain available.

Pool Maintenance
From January 11, 2027, through April 2027, the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see and hear work taking place during daytime hours. However, the Villas Pool and the Inn Pool will remain open for Guests to enjoy.

Bay Lake Tower
The following notice is for Bay Lake Tower, which sits adjacent to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
From January 26, 2026, to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will temporarily be closed for maintenance. The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool and the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will remain open for Guests to enjoy.
Refurbishment Dates: January 26, 2026 to early May 2026

Lakeshore Lodge
A new resort, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, is being constructed along the shoreline between Disney’s Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. It is scheduled to open in 2027. We have the following photo reports available:

Fort Wilderness
The following work directly impacts guests of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
Pool Addition at Fort Wilderness
Beginning early May 2025, construction will take place near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain open. However, the nearby tennis courts, volleyball court, and the Meadow Playground will be closed temporarily. Please note that Guests may see and hear construction in the area until the work is complete.

As renovations continue at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the gingerbread display will not be available during the 2025 holiday season.

Old Key West
The following notice is posted.
Beginning September 29 through late November, the Miller’s Road leisure pool at Disney’s Old Key West Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. During this time, Guests may see or hear refurbishment work in the area. Guests are welcome to enjoy the Sandcastle feature pool, the Old Turtle Pond, and South Point leisure pools during the temporary closure.

Polynesian Village
The following refurbishment notice is posted for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
From May 2025 through 2026, some areas of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are being refurbished. This work includes the reconfiguration of the front entrance roadway and bus area. While construction activity will be noticeable during daytime hours, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions. All Resort dining, pools, and amenities will remain available. Additionally, some views of the theme parks and other surrounding areas may be impacted. Please allow for extra travel time when arriving at or leaving the Resort.

Wilderness Lodge
The following notice remains in place for construction at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Temporary Boat Service Suspension and Dock Work
From Jan. 12, 2026, through early April 2026, the boat dock at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo routine maintenance. The dock will be closed and boat transportation temporarily suspended from Jan. 12–30.

Exterior Work Extended

Yacht Club
The following notice is posted for Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is undergoing routine exterior maintenance through late 2026. As part of this work, the porte cochere will be closed through late November 2025. This work may impact views from various locations throughout the resort, and at times, alternate paths of travel may be in place.
While efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, construction may be noticeable during daytime hours. All services—including valet, luggage assistance, and transportation—will remain available. All pools, resort dining, and most other amenities will remain available.
*The port cochere work at Disney’s Yacht Club is complete as of late October. Exterior maintenance is expected to continue through 2026.

Disney’s refurbishment schedule is often extensive and continually ongoing. With this many resort hotels, constant refurbishment is inevitable.
