Disney World’s Resort Hotel Refurbishment Schedule (2026-2027)

At any given time, multiple resorts, hotels, and villas at Walt Disney World are undergoing refurbishment. Refurbishments can range from major construction to minor items such as a brief pool closure. Below, we’ve listed the scheduled resort refurbishments.

Intro

Those planning an upcoming stay will likely want to consider the refurbishments listed below. For instance, do you want to stay at a hotel where loud construction begins at 9:00 a.m.? If you enjoy sleeping late, the answer is probably no. However, a little noise might not be a big deal if you plan to arrive at the parks early every morning.

Another consideration is whether you’ll spend time at the pool. When one pool closes for refurbishment, the other pools at the resort get crowded. Generally, Disney completes most pool refurbishments in the cooler months. That said, if you have a small child and see that an aquatic play area will be closed during your trip, you might consider another resort.

Of course, not all of these refurbishments are dealbreakers. You’ll need to weigh the importance of each item for yourself. Overall, I would ask myself whether the resort is still worth the expense, given the refurbishment taking place. If not, this might be an excellent time to consider an alternative.

Refurbishments

This list contains resort refurbishments announced for Walt Disney World. We update this article to include new announcements and other work that we notice during our resort visits.

Skyliner Refurbishment Notice

The following resorts will be directly affected by the Disney Skyliner’s yearly refurbishment in 2027.

• Disney’s Pop Century
• Disney’s Art of Animation
• Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
• Disney’s Riviera Resort

The following Epcot Resorts are also within walking distance of the Skyliner and can be considered indirectly affected by the refurbishment: Disney’s Beach Club, Yacht Club, BoardWalk, Swan, and Dolphin.

2027 Skyliner Closure:

From January 24, 2027, through January 30, 2027, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.

All-Star Movies

From October 2025 through May 2026, Guest rooms at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will undergo refurbishment, followed by refurbishment work at Jambo House from May 2026 through January 2027. During these times, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. All amenities will remain available throughout the refurbishment.

Kidani Village

A complete room refurbishment has finally been announced for Kidani Village and Jambo House.

No notices are posted at this time except for the Skyliner Closures in 2027 that we noted above.

Beach Club Resort

The following notices are posted for Disney’s Beach Club and Beach Club Villas.

Leisure Pool and Exterior Maintenance

Disney’s Beach Club Resort is undergoing visible exterior maintenance through late 2026, which will impact views from various locations throughout the resort, and at times, require alternate paths of travel. As part of this work, from mid-January 2026 through early May, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear refurbishment work in the area until the work is complete. Most dining and resort amenities will remain available.

Tidal Pool Refurbishment Dates: Mid-January 2026 through early May 2026
Exterior Maintenance Dates: Through Late 2026

BoardWalk Resort

Pool Maintenance

From January 11, 2027, through April 2027, the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see and hear work taking place during daytime hours. However, the Villas Pool and the Inn Pool will remain open for Guests to enjoy.

From February 9 through early March 2026, the Fuentes del Morro Water Play Area at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. The Fuentes del Morro feature pool and all other amenities will remain open during the work. Guests may see or hear maintenance activity during daytime hours.

Contemporary Resort

An updated resort refurbishment notice has been posted for Disney’s Contemporary Resort, extending it into 2027.

Refurbishments will occur in phases throughout select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, including the atrium and Bay Lake Tower. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.

Refurbishment Dates: September 2024 through Late 2027

Bay Lake Tower

Refurbishments will occur in select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort—including Bay Lake Tower and the Convention Center. Please allow for extra travel time. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.

Refurbishment Dates: September 2024 through July 2026

Coronado Springs Resort

A new resort, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, is being constructed along the shoreline between Disney’s Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. It is expected to open in 2027.

Fort Wilderness

The following work directly impacts guests of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. An updated notice has offered an idea of when the new pool at Fort Wilderness will be completed.

From early May 2025 through mid-2026, construction will take place near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain open for Guests to enjoy. During this time, seating availability around the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool may be limited and Guests may see or hear construction in the area. Guests using bus transportation should follow posted signage to reach the pool area.

Grand Floridian

Ongoing Refurbishment

Renovations at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will continue in select areas, including the porte cochere, through early 2027. Guests may see or hear refurbishment work during daytime hours or need to take alternate paths of travel.

From early May 2025 through August 2027, Guest rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will undergo refurbishment throughout different parts of the Resort hotel. During this time, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area.

Riviera Resort

Saratoga Springs

The following notice is posted.

From mid-March through mid-September 2026, The Turf Club Bar & Grill and The Turf Club Lounge at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will be under refurbishment. During portions of the refurbishment, some areas will be temporarily closed, including:

• Early April – early August 2026: The Turf Club Lounge (The Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified Lounge food & beverage menu) 
• Early to mid-August, 2026: The Turf Club patio 
• Mid-August – mid-September, 2026: The Turf Club Bar & Grill (The Turf Club Lounge will remain open

Yachtsman Steakhouse will close in May 2026 for a refresh, with reopening expected by August 2026, and Crew’s Cup Lounge will close February 23, 2026, with reopening expected in May 2026. Guests may see or hear daytime work until the refurbishment is complete.

Disney’s refurbishment schedule is often extensive and continually ongoing. With this many resort hotels, constant refurbishment is inevitable.
