Character Meets Return to Walt Disney World Starting April 18th (2022)
Character meets and greets will return to Walt Disney World beginning April 18, 2022. This exciting news means guests can get hugs and autographs from their favorite characters once again.
The return of beloved traditional characters meets is cause for celebration! Per the Disney Parks Blog, these character meets will be reintroduced to the parks starting in April.
However, not all former character meets will be available immediately. Disney plans to gradually add these meets throughout the upcoming Spring and Summer months.
During the last two years, we’ve grown to love and appreciate unique character sightings, pop-up parades, and other ways Disney has made it possible to interact with characters safely.
Unfortunately, receiving hugs, character autographs, and genuine interaction did not fall under safety guidelines.
At this time, there are several character sighting locations in place at Walt Disney World. Here are a few you can anticipate meeting between now and April 18th:
- Meet Princesses at Fairytale Hall
- Meet Anna and Elsa at Epcot
- Meet Mickey Mouse at Magic Kingdom
- Meet Mary Poppins
- Meet Belle
- Meet Chip and Dale
- Meet Disney Junior Characters
- Meet Disney Princesses at Epcot
- Meet Disney Pals at Epcot Entrance
- Meet Vanellope von Schweetz

In addition, the Festival of Fantasy Parade has returned. At this time, the parade is running on a twice-daily schedule at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Make sure to check that schedule for exact times on the day of your visit.

If you have a visit planned after mid-April, don’t forget to bring your character autograph book! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get a few new autographs to add to my collection. It’s been a long time.
